Not able to see invaders?

So it's rare, but sometimes I cannot see invaders. I just tested it our in Kiln of the First Flame with some friends, and twice in a row I could not see the invader. It has only happened about five times in the past week or so, and I did not have this problem before that.
Does anyone else have this problem, or am I just crazy?

Yes. I do tons of co-op, and just recently I've started having similar issues. I had a host die at the Four Kings because I couldn't touch the third king and he couldn't touch me. That time I could see him, but couldn't touch him. I could hit the 4th one, but by then it was too late.

Also, as a gold phantom, I couldn't see an invader in Blighttown.

I've never had a problem with hitting regular enemies and bosses, but now that you mention it, this has only happened to me as a gold phantom.
Maybe it's a bug or something? If so, I hope they fix it. PvP is one of my favorite parts of this game, and I love being a Sunbro.

Yeah, it's an issue that is becoming more and more common. It's a big pain in FC, because it means certain people won't be allowed to face eachother in the ring. As well I've actually had an issue with people invading without a message popping up recently, I've been forced to carry a White Soapstone less I turn a corner and be facerolled by a Darkmoon out of nowhere.

Yesterday in Blighttown I was summoned for co-op. When we got to the giant wooden thing the host started spazzing out and attacking it. For an instant I thought it was just like, "I HATE THIS G**DAMNED PLACE!!" type of thing, then I realized he was fighting Shiva. I started swinging at air and after 10 or 15 seconds Shiva and his bodyguard appeared.

They shouldn't appear to you anyway, as a phantom only the proper NPC's appear to the host, that way people can't kill them and ruin a person's playthrough.

But they DID appear eventually. I guess because the host attacked them?

That won't cause them to appear to a phantom, they should be light blue silhouettes no matter what. NPC's like that cannot become visible to the phantoms, unless something really strange happened in that world which I've never heard of before.

Oh yeah, I forgot: yesterday I also went to Darkroot to help Kaminari kill Shiva and his bodyguard. There I could see the NPC silhouette, and once Kami attacked them they became visible and I could attack them. I BS'd Shiva, so it wasn't my imagination.

More info, I don't get the "player has invaded" sign when they invaded, either.

I've been unable to see phantoms before during pvp, but I've always seen invasion messages and such. Perhaps your internet connection is bad?

I experience both problems from time to time.
Once I was a white phantom and could see my host fighting and taking damage but couldn't see the invader.
The invasion messages.. I always get them, but sometimes very late. Once I had the "Dark spirit *** invaded" together with the "Dark spirit *** was vanquished"

I am on xbox and I have experienced all of the metioned issues from time to time.

Invaders in my world that I never see.
Invaders that aren't announced to me until I am already fighting them.
Invaders in a host's world that I can't see, and they can't see me.
NPC's that my host attacks but I can never attack, other NPC's that become attackable once the host attacks them....

....just random glitches.
