Channeler Breaks Post in UP

I was in the church in Undead Parish below the gargoyles, and the Channeler got a little more aggressive than usual. He swung at me and hit one of the pillars at the bottom of the stairs and it broke... first time I had seen that!

I know this in itself is not a lore post, but it got me thinking that if he could break that... what else could he break??

I am a huge fan of these forums and had always just been a reader but I thought I'd share this. Might be useful, might be nothing.

Hmmm it may be just me but I don't think I have ever seen those pillars break either. Or I could be that I don't pay the closest attention to my enviroment and didn't notice it before. Probably the later, but just incase I will go around hitting suspicious walls with my +5 channelers trident.

Tower knight can break them as well.

For what it's worth, it seems that monsters occasionally exhibit...explosive behavior with the environment. The snakeman breaking the wall in Sen's Fortress is one, the event you described sounds like another.

Heck, earlier today I Wrath of the Gods'd a hollow in the Asylum and he demolished one of the pillars the demon can smash, whereas I couldn't even scratch it.

I have pulled the big knight all over the church so he attacked every pillar. Enemies can destroy solid destructible environments, you can mostly destroy mooden stuff. So if you try to break something made of stone, you have to lure an enemy (not npc) to attack it. It was the same in demons souls.

You're going to make me lead enemies all over now Ublug you sick monster. Why do you have to keep proposing untested ideas? You're taking advantage of my curious nature.
