Re: Statues of Lordran (and more)
I'll keep my lips sealed about the controversy that arose last time I heard that statue's weapon being called a Dragonslayer spear but yeah, it should count. It's definitely an important statue. If you are good with binoculars and/or bow you can find the head in the grass and see the face.

Re: Statues of Lordran (and more)
Really? The hand's even holding it by the guard, the way Ornstein does. Looks identical to me, though obviously not to scale. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though, this is the internet. Any minute someone's gonna call me a 'noob,' aren't they?skarekrow13 wrote:I'll keep my lips sealed about the controversy that arose last time I heard that statue's weapon being called a Dragonslayer spear but yeah, it should count.

Re: Statues of Lordran (and more)
Lol.....You're not a n00b. It's intended to look almost identical. I guess I'll rehash the important points. It's the same weapon design with the exception of the blade (both have blades by the way) and the guard immediately attached to the blade. The DSS has a narrower blade than the one at the statue. The statue one's guard is also larger and curved and looks like Gwyn's Sword's guard. The DSS has a few more ornamental additions as well.

Is the catacombs statue the one behind the tomb where you find the darkmoon seance ring? That statue and the fact it looks nearly identical to the one in the parish always struck me as very meaningful for reasons I can't really explain.

Yeah, the sunlight one looks pretty much the same too. Firelink one looks way different.

Bad Skare, remember what happened last time you talked about that spear! It ended in tears. If someone could get good quality pictures of each piece of the statue Im sure someone here is tech savvy ebough to recreate the statue from them.

I have pictures of the statue in my photobucket...It's just hard to tell what is actually a picture and what is a coffee stain...None of it is coffee.

Re: Statues of Lordran (and more)
I tried visualizing it together. The left arm still baffled me a little. I believe it's supposed to be a standard pose but that hand looks like its resting on something but I can't find another piece that would support that.......
Epiphany? Maybe its holding a hand out to offer a blessing or comfort

Fixed.
You know, there is that carving in the church of a shepard holding a staff in one hand, and his other holding a circular object towards the maiden.

Oh yeah. The dude who hangs out with lions and dragons.
Lions and dragons and man. Oh my.
I could have resisted that. I didn't want to

Re: Statues of Lordran (and more)
there's a goat-like beast, a lion and a man. all i can think of is a chimaera. also, its weird to see differing maiden statues then find a similar ones in catacombs and sunlight altar.
edit: tablets looks like the door entering the kiln.

Hmm interesting. The statue with the mother holding a young child appears to come up quite a lot.

Re: Statues of Lordran (and more)
there are markings on the floor in the pinwheel boss area, a tablet partially covered by books, and human pattern in the roof (lid). you can see these markings clearer inside the area where the large divine ember is located. so far thats what i've found in catacombs and ToG. oh, also played with prism stones in ToG, there are some location thats being mark although, i think is a fatal drop. i also noticed that the architecture in ToG are coffin inspired.
