Your take on Gravelords
Yeah I want to know what you think of us Gravelords. Are we good fighters, lame ambushers, clever strategists, or do you even see enough of us to have made up your minds.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
Well I personally like us quite a bit. Gravelords are pretty much the only covenant I have any interest in joining. I mean sure, the Forest Hunters are fun every now and then, but they just don't have the same "I'm out to ruin your day, what you gonna do about it?" feel Gravelords do.
Basically: Gravelords Act, Hunters React. I just can't put my full weight behind a covenant that doesn't take the initiative.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
The Gravelord covenant is my favourite in terms of what it does, it's just brilliant and suits the masochistic world of lordran completely.
However sadly it's broken, I've seen one gravelord sign in my entire playing of Dark, pretty bad return really

Re: Your take on Gravelords
I'm pretty sure you know which one I voted for, I'm quite the sucker for humour I consider punny.
Why yes, I should be burned at the stake for that line.
But, Gravelords always interest me, and I always find Gravelording to be enjoyable. It's actually pretty great for Anti-Griefers as well, I sometimes sit in low level areas gravelording, and if I see unskilled low level invaders, I give them a fair chance and use weak weapons, message them and give advice. If I see a Darkwraith with a lightning washing pole? I play a game of who wants to be Chain BS'ed. All in all, it's a great cov, though I do think they should fix the BP's. No one is afraid of BP rats, or ones that spawn out of the way. But oh man, a BP Chaneller, buffing Gaping dragon and shooting Soul Spears. Certain areas though are perfect, BP Bonewheels, nuff said.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
I've run into so few, but the ones I did duke it out with were cool dudes, one being a realbad *** who after I invaded about 6 times was still standing. I gave up.
I just wish the mechanics for invading Gravelords were a little different, maybe infect more than three player's worlds or something, and spawn more of those black NPCs. I couldn't tell you the number of times I get the 'Disasters are gone...' message without even realizing I was infected.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
Gravelords would be cool if I didn't see so many people abusing it to simply piss off other players. I've had several gravelords invade me (is that the right word?) and affect my world with black phantoms, but I've only ever seen a sign once. and that sign was in tomb of the giants in the pit where you get the large divine ember, right in the middle of six giant skeletons. on NG+ that'd be suicide and I didn't much fancy it, honestly. The gravelord was obviously just trying to annoy others and didn't actually want people to be able to fight him.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
Actually he might have wanted sort of an arena. Gravelords are exactly where their sign is, and that's a big arena like area. Come to think of it actually...FC applications...
But, Gravelords send the curse to three worlds and wait for invaders, but that's just it, three worlds. And most people ignore the signs anyway. The issue is some do as you've said and just wait hidden to mess with others. I actually do this in Darkroot leaving myself AFK hidden away cursing to help out my forest hunter brothers, but that's the only instance in which I'll do it.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
The only gravelord I met left his sign in the painted world ariamis and hid on the bridge like a coward. Luckily for me at the time I was using my DEX/ INT build.... with a Dragonslayer bow...... and about 400 arrows easy kill

Re: Your take on Gravelords
Uhm, I was cursed many times and in many different areas but I never found a sign to go fight the GL.
And it's pretty odd, considering several times I had time to explore the area really well before I got the "disasters are gone" message. I wanted so bad to go and fight the GL!
But I got the "disasters" message so someone else did kill the GL, then the summon sign shouldn't have been hidden too well, right?
So I'm with Dusty, I think BP spawns in more than 3 worlds, but only 3 get the summon sign.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
Sometimes Gravelords get invaded right off the bat by a Wraith or Darkmoon, causing their sign to vanish until everyone is dead, as their world is full. It happens especially in Griefer areas, and heavy PvP areas.

The depths is a Griefer heavy area, so it still makes sense. Though the Depths BP's are fairly easy and out of the way.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
A butcher? Really? That one I didn't know about, alright maybe that spot isn't such a bad area. But, it would require you to wait away from the bonfire, as you want to force people to fight you rather than your BP's.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
Yep, the butcher spawns where the 2° butcher is usually. I noticed because both times I was coming from the entrance directed to the bonfire. If you get cursed when you're already at the bonfire you usually don't go up there again.
Lots of ghouls there, then the butcher-that-creeps-me-out, then rats everywhere. Especially annnoying the 3 just before Blighttown, they always attack you together :x
Btw, I voted the last option because, as I said, never found a sign

i think gravelording the kiln is most common. putting the sign down past the first set of black knights is best so they are forced to fight a BP

All the gravelords I've invaded healed with Estus, even though they bowed and it was a 1v1. Also they often use cheap strategies like only fishing for BS. That's the ones I met, sorry.

Thanks the pun was a nicer touch.
Also I do that too. Let people come. Judge their gear then fight accordingly.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
I have made over 10 characters. Played god knows how many houres. Hundreds to say the least.
And I have only been successfully "infected" yesterday. Anor Londo, saw the BK Giant by main gate to O+S.
Never found the Gravelord Sign... UBER SADFACE D:
I wish the cov worked better...

I really wish I could meet more. To date I've only met one, invaded him twice. First time I saw his end by way of dw. 2nd time I didn't even get to fight because a SoV got him first. It was in the burg so the BP's weren't even that scary.

Re: Your take on Gravelords
While I hate so say this. They are scary to new players who often come to me to get rid of them.
And when they are there, the newbies of course, are often surprised when i play fair. I always get messages from players who inavded super surprised that I didn't lightning OHKO them or BS fish. And they come back and we duel with agreed upon weapons.
The DW's however.... I always get hate mail from them.
I follow the old saying.
"If it's Red, Kill it Dead. If its Blue, it's a fair fight from you".
