Re: Anor Londo Archer's
Good point Pendant, I'd forgotten that little detail. I'd also like to point out that I got all the rare weapons etc. solely through my own efforts and did not use Player Trade. I say this because another post suggested this method.WhatDoesThePendantDo? wrote:Problem is most players don't have access to that bow by that point of playthrough 1. Though bows in general are an easy way to take care of them, poison arrows is what I used my first time through.SlakeMoth wrote:Dragonslayer Great Bow from the area where the pink demon thingys are (or were, knock them out first). No problem, knocks them off their feet and you can just saunter up at your leisure and enjoy the view.

Re: Anor Londo Archer's
After you get past the archers, go to the bonfire. Then, spend some time practicing parrying on that silver knight. Just parry, do not riposte. Do this until it becomes second nature. You'll find 2 things happen. The archers will suddenly become much easier (run, roll, parry), but the rest of the level just go easier too. It is worth the practice.

Re: Anor Londo Archer's
And yet, it's still completely unnecessary to parry the archer unless you're using a light shield because blocking kills the archer just as easily :p. It could only be conceivably worth the risk if you're running around with a target shield or something and don't have the str to equip a medium shield (even grass crest is good enough).
Of course, parry practice is great, and being good at it makes you a better player overall...but at one of the most frustrating points in the game, doing it when it is completely unnecessary is not IMO the best advice for people struggling in that area haha. Simply rolling through that one arrow and blocking the knight until he dies is good enough.

Re: Anor Londo Archer's
I can't stand the archers, they have given me so much grief in my time playing DkS.
I've used variants of many of the solutions that people have mentioned here, for me most of them are too risky and I never go toe to toe with the knights anymore.
On first playthroughs I always make sure I have poison arrows and on NG+ and beyond it's a greatbow to give them a taste of their own medicine!

Not necessary, but the easiest way, by far, for me.

Re: Anor Londo Archer's
My favorite way is to summon people and let them sacrifice themselves killing the archers. Meatshields are the best way to get past anything in this game.
