Something odd in Anor londo.
In the room where you fight O&S, there are 3 pillars at the back of the room, one has a statue of gwyn, one has a statue of Gwynevere and another is empty, does anyone know if there is significance about that?

It may be the statue of Gwyndolin, the God of War or the Goddess with the baby.

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
The empty pedestal is twice the height of the other two, so it should have been the statue of a small person. My guess is that it was once a statue of Gwyndolin, but since he like to stay hidden he had it removed after Anor Londo was forsaken (to sustain the illusion that anor londo is still blessed by the sun).
There's actually an invisible statue there, but I've found no way of revealing it.
Right below the three statues you also find the Darkmoon Tomb, containing three chests that corresponds with the statues above. The chest in the middle (gwyn statue) has the Sunlight Blade, to the right the Brass Armor (gwynevere statue), and the one to the left is empty (empty statue). These may not be related, but it feels like more than a coincidence that the only empty pedestal and empty chest are arranged this way.

Well gwyndolin is an experienced and brilliant illusionist, so i expect its a statue he's concealed for his reasons...

Drop a pendant in the chest and see if the statue appears?

That actually makes sense.....what with the painting of Gwyndolin and all with the pendant slung around him.

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
I dropped one, checked the statue....nada. Mist spells.....nada....sunlight spear....nada. Lemon buffed weapon....nada.
Anyway.....I did some arrow tests. The statue is close to Gwyn's height (statue form). I checked for tentacles but at the base, the statue is no wider than the platform so it's likely robed Gwyndolin if it is Gwyndolin. And I do think it could be Gwyndolin.
I made this video with the scythe since the dust clouds it makes illustrates the front edge of the statue better than arrows did. The blade repels before sparking off the platform even.

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
Never actually took notice to this, but it seems like it could very well have something to do with Gwyndolin, Has anybody tried turning the world dark, then killing Gwyndolin, then dropping the pendent?

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
I turned the world dark, killed Gwyndolin and dropped the pendant in the empty box. I went onto the platform near the empty box after I opened it and jumped onto the box so the pendant was actually in the box. I always like to have one pendant on me and that was my second to last so I can't try it in front of the statue.

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
In the oolacile style spells is there any that banish illusions? Like a sort of anti chameleon spell?
I refuse to look up all the spells as i like to come across a few surprises still.

What about the white seance ring in that chest and check the statue.

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
I could try rings. I would imagine that the players who did seance ring runs back in the Glyphblade All secrets revealed days would have noticed something but I can also try equipping those rings near the statue. Any other suggestions of things to try would be welcome as well. They should be easy to test since I can warp between bonfires.

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
Personally its the big boulder above the 10 braziers behind frampt that interest me more than anything. It also has a chest. So maybe white in that one and darkmoon in gwyndolins chest?
Btw isn't gwyndolin's chest just to get the lordvessel should you kill gwynevere on sight?

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
Do you mean a chest in the Abyss? Or the one behind Frampt in Firelink?
Also, I thought I read somewhere that the empty chest behind Gwyndolin can hold the maiden set assuming you didn't find it in the Archive prison. Not sure if that's true or not. I can't find it on the wiki and I've never seen that chest with anything in it and I'm pretty sure that I killed Gwyndolin in NG+ and NG++ before heading to the Archives. Not sure about NG

Lol there's not. Thought you saw something I hadn't. That one is where key items return to that are needed to complete the game if you lose them

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
Yeah i understand that, but its one of two pre opened chests in the game. Which makes it fairly interesting. Its proximity to the statue blocking what seems like a bricked up doorway makes me think its more than just a game break failsafe.

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
Hmmm i might just explore the abyss a little bit. Has anyone really gotten to grips with that place? Its annoying that the white seance ring (only annoying if its cut content) has that monniker. If they cut the content associated with it they should have renamed it to something less intriguing.

Re: Something odd in Anor londo.
I'm 99% sure this is a bug, but I had a weird experience last night in Anor Londo with a player message. I sunbro in there a lot, and in between summons like to roam around the main walkway and upding funny messages. I usually do this by reading the message and then using the select button rather than the orange soapstone. Last night for whatever reason I checked the soapstone at some point, and it gave me the middle option to rate a msg even though I already had via the select button. When I activated it, the message I saw was a Frampt (or whichever serpent it is with the highest rating) icon, and the msg was "?BloodMsg?". The rating was over 27,000 and it kept rapidly scrolling up and down to 30,000+. I sort of stared at this mesmerized for a few minutes and then suddenly it transformed into a 0 rating "Praise the Sun!" msg without me doing anything. Since then I've had a few other phantom "Praise the Sun!" msgs show up for rating on my orange soapstone that I didn't find ingame, although none have repeated the Frampt part. This is on a sunbro+2 character. I think others have seen buggy msgs with "??" around them like this, but in the chargen menu rather than ingame - perhaps "bloodmsg" is just the system name for a red player msg. Anyway, it was pretty creepy.
