After Drake sword.

I'm currently using Drake sword, what weapon should i use? im in blight town atm should i still use it or get a new one?

I'd say you're still good but after Blighttown and Quelaag, ya you probably should get a better sword since the Drake Sword doesn't scale with your stats.

Depends on what kind of build you're making. If you're going with a Strength build I would get the Zweihander from the graveyard in Firelink Shrine and Upgrade it, if you're going Dex I would get a Katana and upgrade it.

For example, I have a +7 Uchigatana that ends up with 210 damage with 20 Dexterity, if you plan on having a Dex build. I'm actually on my way to Quelaag through the Valley of Drakes entrance as I type this.

Yes but if you have good enough strength and level it up (+10 or +15 regular) you can hit pretty hard with it, especially when you buff it with SLB or MLB spell. I actually use it on my main character.

Slower yes, but as Arget said it can do a massive amount of damage per swing, which more than makes up for it.

is qualeegs furysword any good?

Well if it's your first playthrough, it's pretty good against Pinwheel boss fight and O&S boss fight but in the long run it's not the greatest. You'll have to have a +10 curve sword and Quelaag's soul and get to the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo though to make it. So you'll still need another weapon before that.

If you're making a Strength build then yeah, it's a pretty solid weapon.

what i would do is try all of them, the fury sword, zwei, claymore, mags or you look up the weapon sections and see what looks good for you, after you try them stick with what you like and have fun with, if youre not having with it then what's the point?

I have it +4 and its pretty awesome. It a flaming sword so the cool factor is there and it hits real hard. It and my Iato +14 are my weapons of choice. As an example of the Furysword's strength, I'm currently SL39 doing Coop in the depths helping people take down the Gaping Dragon. The sword OHKs every mob, two hits the channeler, takes that big rat in 3 or 4 2 handed swings and does about 400 dmg per swing to the dragon. Don't know how much longer it will last me but its cool looking and i really like the move set, fast powerful swings and very usable special attacks.

Ill tell you my favorite weapon per build, pick your poison:
STR: MSGS
DEX: Balder Side Sword & Parry Dagger/Lifehunt Scythe
STR/DEX: Dragonslayer Spear
INT: Enchanted Estoc/Moonlight Greatsword
INT/DEX: Balder Side Sword/Estoc (Magic weapon spell is a given)
FTH: Divine Claymore
STR/FTH: Grant
STR/DEX/INT/FTH: GSOA
Pure Pyromancer (Next to no stats for STR,FTH,INT and DEX): Fire Claymore

You can get a Lightning Spear in Sen's fortress . Its solid
And in Anor Londo you can find a Crystal Halberd which is also good for Biggie and Smalls (O&S) .
Those are all just temporary solutions though .

Once I found this Item, I fell in love and leveled it as high as I could at the time. I think you'll like it, I would also recomend a Divine Hamer class weapon to get through the catacombs, the hamer class weapons knock the skeletons apart, keeping them from attacking and the devine attribute cause them to die and not respawn.

i highly suggest finding a "normal weapon" that fits your stats that you like and making it raw +5 it will get you pretty far and since your in blighttown you can easily farm large shards to upgrade it. im not saying its the best option but raw weapons are great for trying stuff out without having to put to much upgrade stones into them.


if you're looking for the most powerful weapon at that point it kinda depends on your stats. the lightning spear in sens is the logical next step after drake sword if your looking for pure power. but be warned that the lightning spear is not the best weapon to fight the anor londo boss with.

Now that i read BToverninetythousand's it reminded me of something :

You can find a Occullt club in Anor Londo . Downgrade it at a Blacksmith and it wil be a +5 Divine Club . Great for Catacombs .

I used a morning star

I went with Lightning Spear up to the point where you get the Lordvessel, then replaced it with a Lightning Uchigatana +5. It's doing great.

The Crystal halbard is pretty nifty, so long as you use it sparingly because you can't repair it.
