    Covenant question Empty Covenant question

Post by belkaizer Thu Jan 26, 2012 3:18 am

my character is sl 173 and is on the darkmoon covenant( dont hate me plz). im on ng++.wich covenant between darkmoon or darkwraith is better for some pvp? is there any difference between the red orb and the blue orb??? i guess i dont mind not beign able to use darkmoon blade (or do i not sure). but of those 2 covenants wich one is better for invading?? ignore the fact that im high level, i know im suppose to encounter less pvp because most people cap themselves at 120.

thanks in advance for the help big grin Hurrah

you could go either ways and try it out. get the blue orb then go to darkwraith. by then you should try it out yourself. there are also other covenants that encourages pvp such as forest and dragon. if you're only choosing between the two, DkW or DkM, imo the darkwraith would give you more chance to invade other players. the DkM and its blue orb only focuses on people that 'sinned' in their world. lets say, there are 40,000 'sinned' players, half of them are online. then cut it again because of level restrictions, and the remainder are divided in different servers. this is just an example. i myself am a DkM before and invaded using the blue orb. im sl 75 and in a whole day, i only invaded more or less 20 people, and some of them i didn't even fight because of them going to the bosses. when you die, you don't lose any souls and humanity when using the blue orb while its the opposite when using the red orb.

    happy invading!

I'm probably wrong, but from what I've experienced, seems like there's no level restriction regarding invasions as a darkmoon.

oh, yeah, i've looked for it and it seems that there are no level cap for DkM. i tried a whole day using the blue orb as a DkM and felt no one's playing, like i said i only had 20ish invasion, wierd.

oh, joining DkM and achieving rank 1 gives you DkM blade, which is a great weapon buff. and talisman for faith base players.

DkW only gives you a set of armour and dark hand. darkwraith (not online players but ones found in new londo) drops dark hand.

Some say that DWs invade upwards in terms of SL and DMs invade downwards. No one is certain though.

I'm at SL150, and have had pretty good action as both DW and DM.

One small addition to demi_god's post, you will lose souls with DW, but not really since you can easily retrieve if killed. You'll be popped right next to last bonfire and your souls will be waiting wherever you were before invading. The best areas to try invasion are usually right by the bonfire, so I've never had a problem retrieving

darkwraith can invade up as much as they want, my 15 invaded a 176 with a cracked orb. so i figure the same or even more extreme for the unbroken orb. having a ninja flipping havel with cloranthy ring attack you in the burg is no fun, yes dark moons can invade down

At SL100 or below, you will get more action as a DW, because you don't need to depend on sin, and most pvp'ers are at or above your level. At higher SLs (particularly above 130ish), you will likely get more action as a DM. However, be aware that you're going to be invading lower level characters as a DM, which kind of ruins the experience IMO. You'll always be left wondering whether your victories are hollow given that the playing field isn't level.

Try using the red orb. It gives more options since with the blue eyed orb you can only invade people who have sinned. Red orb allows for a more diverse, although sometimes frustrating, variety of players and sl's to be dueled. (and btw in case you didnt know the red soap sign can be summoned infintely down so a sl 710 can summon a sl 1)
