50 Chunks, no Slabs...

Been farming the Datkwraiths in New Londo for a little while and this has been my haul.

Never thought I'd ever actually get annoyed at seeing a titanite Chunk drop for me, but it's gotten to that point... :roll:

youre gonna need all the titanite chunks you can get dude so dont worry.

Farming for slabs? Grab snacks, equip 10 humanity and the gold serpent ring and be read for a LONG haul. Its takes hours for even one to drop.

I feel your pain. I retrieved 68 chunks. Sometimes, in pairs. So many runs, and so no slabs. That was with 05 Humanity and the Ring though; I don't trust Darkwraiths enough to go in there with 10.

I guess. Should I store some in my BB, because once you hit 99 isn't it true that you can't harvest any more?

pt the hornet ring on and ohko them with a bs. in the beginning it used to really piss me off but once you learn their moves it gets really easy to farm.

yep, put 99 on your bb and upgrade all the armors since youre gonna have a lot of souls to buy reg and large titanite.

Well, that's what I'm doing. I got the Hornet Ring on and my backstabs OHKO them. So killing them isn't the issue. Getting the item that I want, however... If anything it's the ghosts that give me the most trouble, popping out from the walls and hitting me when I'm not expecting them. They are annoying little buggers.

go in and come out right away to lure the two dw out and it should be no problem.

i have never once gotten a slab from darkwraiths. i would not get my hopes too high about the drop.

The power of random it's like everything else obtained from drops - sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't. Or maybe the game doesn't like you

I got two slabs in about ... 20 visits to New Londo with only 1-2 humanity and Gold Serpent Ring.

I got one from something like the third Darkwraith I ever killed. Haven't seen one since but haven't really farmed either.

it really is random. i farm wraiths as my main source of chunks. i would say close to 50hrs(hard to pinpoint) of farming them in all my 1000hrs of gameplay and have not got a single one. and i farm a lot of chunks cause i often will upgrade armor to +9 before i am even sure if i will use it. same with weapons all +14 at least. then shields,lightning weapons, you get the point ive farmed a lot of friggen chunks lol. well before i open the kiln. even after sometimes i farm wraiths just cause i find it less boring then running back and forth to the black knights.

Well, the count is now 84 Chunks and still no Slab...

Took a break for a while, thought I'd have more luck trying in a few hours, but still, nothing.

4 slabs in the past few days(about 3 hours farming)
Im starting to think that co-op helps with item discovery in some hidden way because every time i co-op when farming i always seam to get more drops right after i get back from helping kill a boss.

I'm having so much fun, guys.

seemed that way to me too, 5 runs in the depths, no titanite, get back from co-op, 1st run = a double drop, not always but it was happening enuf to not seem random.

It seemed to take me a while to get my first, but I'd say they drop every 35-50 chunks. They've actually been dropping pretty steadily for me the last few farming sessions.

Well, I farmed more Chunks then I can count and still no Slab; so I put my DkS down for today and decided to try for it another day.

After all, it's the pure definition of insanity to try the same thing over and over again and expect a different result.

Im planning on going to farm those darkwraiths for the chunks tonight or tomorrow, what do you guys think is the best way to enter new londo? from firelink or from the drake door entrance?

I always go from Firelink, kill all the Darkwraiths, kill the Drakes from behind their backs, then Homeward Bone. Rinse and repeat

Got a Slab from a Crystal Lizard in The Great Hollow. Wasn't the original plan, but, hey, if it works, it works.

Can't find that Crystal Lizard myself.

The best entrance is, in my opinion, the Firelink one. Those drakes troll me too much.

Drakes are easy, once you add the power of of the sun in ya palm
