Time for a break!
So after coming across 6 different dragon bow-bs guys in the forest and screaming to the point of losing my voice I'm gonna be taking a break from Dark Souls. A LOOOOOONG break. I'll be back soon, but right now it's getting frustrating coming across all these gits who can't even fight their own battles.

Re: Time for a break!
My suggestion is to go Gravelord covenant. Gravlording has drastically improved the quality of my PvP experiences. Just seems all the SoVs are legit players interested in just fighting. Occasionally I still get a dbag DarkWraith but they are few and far between.Something for you to consider anyways

Re: Time for a break!
if you go to the forest not expecting something like that then thats your fault but a couple of days off should do the trick.

Re: Time for a break!
I expected one. Not several all doing the same thing. It was like someone organized it. Play the x-files theme if you want now >_>
I was thinking more like 2-3 weeks.

Re: Time for a break!
yea i think a lot of people just look at the forest as the most high traffic area for pvp and there for the place to be. the forest has no rules so dont expect anything but to catch up on all the latest cheap tactics and glitches.

Re: Time for a break!
actually you know what you might wanna try. pvp in the darkroot basin. its right outside the door but the pvp is about 10x better and more honorable most the time.

Luckily I encountered only one dragon bow-backstabber today.

Re: Time for a break!
Hm from my experience from the forest i would like to guide u with this little chart here
level 1 -30: Stay away from forest, (at these lvls u are usually fighting People who have cleared the game upgraded all there **** to max and think there badass cause they can one hit you... (you rarely see people fishing for backstabs is the only plus)
lvls 40-60ish : Again you probably want to stay away from forest, the man reason being... it's a gankfest and at this level range i find Everyone is looking for backstabs exploits or dirty methods, i've seen them all...
70-90: This is the level range i roll with. there is still some attempts at backstabs. but all in all i've seen more "honarable people" then ive seen trolls, my main 4 charecters are all 80's and its not uncommon to be summoned into a game where the host and white phantom take turns fighting..
120ish: ive heard the pvp at 120 is fair and quite busy, honestly i don't no i can't seem to find it in myself to lvl past 80...(im running outta stuff to buy) sadly ivie played this game over 400 hours and have yet to see the ending once...(i habit achieved through demon souls) . maybe ill do that tonight. or get destracted by that damn forest again...
u should keep playing though lvl to 80 and who knows u might invade into my world, im all about letting people duel

Re: Time for a break!
Enjoy your break, but don't rush yourself back or you'll get to the point I'm at with Souls, being weary and having no motivation for it.

I just ran through the forest to the boss fight, 1 NPc I fought. Maybe that's the solution to the problem in the forest

he's talking about invading gankers who bs him as a forest hunter. not the other way round.Odinbear wrote:I just ran through the forest to the boss fight, 1 NPc I fought. Maybe that's the solution to the problem in the forest
The Dark Souls community has a lot to answer for.

Re: Time for a break!
Gee, I wonder where everyone got that idea from... Not youtube, no, never. Thank youtube again for bringing down the quality of Dark Souls PvP.
If you're looking for good fights, though, definitely give the Burg a shot before taking a break.

Re: Time for a break!
I would, but my favorite and main guy is now 277. I'm thinking about asking for a mule so I can make a 120 build based off of my hunter.

Eki, breaks are fine but make sure to come back. We still gotta sync an invasion somehow and jack a host up!

I've hidden the case from me promising to not play for a week. I start playing again the next day.

I've made it 1 weekend, just 2 more than I'll start on my list of builds that I made up last night. Mugenmonkey is an addicting tool >_>

Re: Time for a break!
^Making builds is what's kept me playing for so long--every time I think I've about done everything I can think of... another build pops into my head and I have to do it and I have to keep playing!
To be honest, though... My Jackal, Juggernaut, and Genius are probably going to be my last builds... probably!

Re: Time for a break!
So far I've got a good list going on here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16wydv3k1V99a4TZX3-YUY-5KTgxCC0r3tv9JdXfviVc/edit
The moonlit one is something I've wanted to do now for a while, because I was thinking 'bout how I started and ended in demon's souls. A fluted armor wearing royal using the blue blood, phosphorescent, adjudicator shield, and yellow catalyst. So why not 1-up that

Re: Time for a break!
I've been considering a "Phantom build"
All white clothing, Ring of Fog, Dual Daggers, high vitality at a low level and hit and run tactics (no healing for fairness)
