Help with Ripostes please?

Okay, so I sometimes see people doing this crazy riposte with a great club. It's the usual knockdown animation, but then there's an additional overhead slam to the victim's face/torso. It looks incredibly brutal, and I'd like to do it myself.

Can anyone who knows a bit about this explain HOW to do it.
-Do I need a hornet's ring?
-Does it need to be 2-handed?
and the big question...
-Can it be done with OTHER weapons?
if so, which ones?

also, if this has been answered elsewhere, I apologize. I'm sort of new here and I'm not quite sure how to navigate myself around

some have different animations, i think theres only two animations one for the small weapons and one for the big weapons.

when wearing the hornet ring the animation sometimes changes

yea its the Hornet ring as they said, and to add it only changes the animation on other players and NPCs, normal mobs the animation won't change
