I really don't know, and I'm sure a lot of you have dabbled in a ton more games than I have, but when you factor in how important each stat point is utilized with the multitude of different movesets for weapons, strategy with weapons, buffs, rings, and the impact different armors have, I really can't imagine a more technical game in this genre.

Is there a more technical fantasy/action RPG than Dark Souls/Demon's Souls

True! Although I have never played any Monster Hunter in the series, they seem to be somewhat comparable to Dark and Demon's.

Its not an action rpg. Skyrim is an action rpg. I don't care what From or g4 or Ign say, Dks is a 3d dungon crawler heavy on rpg and hack & slash elements.
Thats a big reason it is so technical. Dungon crawls always are.

Monster Hunter for sure, it is all about skill and some of the armor combos and perks you get from them too. it is definately harder than demon's or dark souls when you play it solo, i spent over a thousand hours on unite alone and im gonna get a ps vita next month for my bday and the game im getting is Unite since my psp died last year.

I agree with Forum Pirate. It's a dungeon crawl. Even the part where you lose progress (souls and humanity) when you die.

Only console MH game is in Wii. Japan has a huge portable game market so MH games are easier to carry around. I think you can play with random people just by sitting down at a cafe and joining random rooms. They only use the PS3 for its graphics capabilities.

To date myself a bit, some of the roguelikes that are out there are on par or harder.

Dragon's Dogma is about to be released next week. I played the demo version and I liked it. I think it could be a good option for a DkS game like.
I'm really looking forward to try the final version.

Isn't one of the next monster Hunter games releasing for Xbox360 and PS3? I really want to try the series but don't own any systems it's on.

If monster hunter comes back to console I'll definitely get the title, it was a shame they were relegated to PsP as it limited both the controls and the development that the series could get from the media.
Sadly, I can't think of anything like Dark souls, really if I could then it would be a bad thing.

There are alot on PC, dungeon crawlers really aren't that super popular though. And most don't have the action component Dark Souls has.

I have Monster Hunter Freedom on PSP. Couldn't get into it much because I thought the controls were a bit fiddly. Thinking of giving it another go though after reading this.
