DoughGuy wrote:^Beaten twice already! Wow. Its been out like 5 days.
He had it a few day`s before it was released main stream, also he just kept to the main story and left the quest out.
Plus I believe there is a one shot kill (anything item) that you get or can buy once you finish the game.
He keeps telling me I am to slow but I tell him I like to suaver my games and not rush them.

So I found out that if Fournival is sentenced guilty in his trial you cant get the best weapons in the game, so when the trial comes up I give in all the evidence making him innocent and keep all the incriminating stuff. Guess what the pronouncement is?

Guess what I just killed! Nothing It killed me really bad. Still I made it to the ruined bandit castle.
I think Im figuring out about how this game works. Its more about kitting up correctly then going hunting instead of finding what you need on the fly.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
My experience so far.. Picked the game up friday. Started as a Mage and got to the Hydra and decided try the Strider... Ooops! Wiped out my mage character! No biggie as I enjoy the Strider more and wizzed through to the Main City... I got there only to pick the Escort Reynard Quest from the job board - the one where you have to escort him to the Fort...through a long road and the other forest! I was on level 16 with my pawn at 16 and the Mage you get at the start who is still level 6 and a hireling at level 18. Ohmygod what a mistake! Up the mountain path to the Cyclops and the female bandiots hideout. Finally got through there and then it took me the better part of Saturday to kill the bloody Chimera you meet along the way.... in fact I ran past him without fighting Managed to get Reynard back to the Fort, changed my hireling to a level 20 now that I am at that level and headed back. Killed Cyclops in the den, then did the Chimera which turned out to be easier with a level 20 Mage. Got to the bandit hideout as nightfall came and ran into an undead Knight/Mage with another Chimera who was a heack of a lot tougher than the one during the day! A weekend of gaming well spent! lol!
So back in the city and am going to have to do some quests there...
Overall.. Fantastic game! The difficulty level from day to night is phenominal...Brilliant and challanging. Combat is obviously not like DkS but I spent a few hours playing monster hunter last week to get used to it again.
I'm starting ot put a spreadsheet together of mixing combinations... I find going through potions or herbs to heal myself is just ridiculous. The group heals may work better too...
Does anyone have somewhere they go to for the cominations on mixing?

Ok, you know the game lacks story when a fortress you walked through was in revolt without you realising it lol.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Oh yeah - another random tip I figured out saturday night:
When scaling a humanoid monster such as a cyclops its best to hang off his arm between the shoulder and elbow (on his tricep). He cant shake you off or reach you with his other hand. The only way he gets you off is by jumping in the air and landing on your back. So give him as much damage as you can and when he crouches to jump, leg it so you dont get squished!! The armour on his arms comes off after 3 or 4 hits too so you can do some great damage to him. Especially with a potion buffing strength!
I also found two shots with the bow on Mighty Bend to his hand holding the club will make him drop it. Even before he has seen you! Your pawns then rush in on him if they have fought one before.

Thank`s Holiness's for those good tips.
Also I did the exact same thing you did with the escort thingamajig quest,if it was not for a friends pawn I would have been history.
When IO looked on the map where you needed to take him there was nothing just a big space between us and the destination .
I have just found the Forest to night in the neighborhood I believe its called?.
What a creepy place, its just full of wolf`s spiders rabbits and fog.
I am still plodding along every where aimlessly doing my own thing, grinding and grinding.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Lol this game is hard to pick up for me as without any nice gear I have little incentive to try out the other vocations. Though I have a mace called Obliteratrix or something.....

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
I considered letting him learn it after he meets Yvette and after that he actually has a plausible reason why a non magic user can use magic. but I have not shield nor armour for hims to use so....

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
the ancient quarry is a shortcut to the shadow fort. Theres a dude outside it who asks you to open a gate inside of it.
The softener is an item that cures petrification.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Im at the wall...... Warrior is what Ive mostly invested in until now. My guy looks okay I guess but he could use some nicer goodies. And as far as Ive seen my greatsword doesnt even top (damage wise) a mace I found lying around....
