Bah the fighter always does the best. Rarely ever do I see a ranged/magic class put out the same Damage per hit. And I chain combos like a boss.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
May be its me and I need to get use to the fighting style,as to the damage out lay yeah fighter does hit harder.
To be fare I never disputed this,I was just stating that I found taking down a Drake with a different class then fighter a lot easier.
Although once I get to know the pro`s and con`s of the fighter I am sure this will change.

Pros= Shield
Cons= Slow blocking without the Augment
Other than that there is no better weapon than the shield.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Finally killed a dragon. Got tired of getting pwned by these things and locked into an ambush miniquest that I'd fail by running away eventually, so I got two sorcerors loaded with ice spells (including that crazy level 111 guy I got), and went in as a warrior. Bizarre fight, we did fine most of the time but every so often the dragon would do some sort of AOE attack that would KO all of my pawns. But ice spikes to the chest and an ice spell on my two hander made quite a difference. I will say it is a pain trying to climb up his tail when he's flying, I'd always lose most of my stamina just getting up.
Still haven't beaten a griffin though, I've fought a few and they always fly away. There's one that comes down and steals cows outside of the main castle and I can't seem to catch him either. Any tips guys?

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Well I got the game yesterday. I like it so far its lots of fun and combat is intresting doesnt have the dark souls feel but I'll beat this game a few times I have hopes that it will be a good game all the way through.
well after some little quest and bunch a bandits a cyclops with already half health and some gators with spears(quest) and a hydra I took a break after the first 1:30 min that I had been playing and played Dark souls for an hour.
I picked it up later that night escorted hydra head to the capitol (i think) and evuntally back tracked till I found a cave behind a water fall to which i went through the entire thing to the end where I beat the tar out of a another cyclops after the moment I engaged the beast it maneged to somehow throw a secondary pawn and my main in to the water behind me killing them which left me and a mage pawn to fight one eye.
I killed it after climbing it and wacking at the back of its head for like 10-15 min with my lvl 10 fighter.
I looted the place as best I could but couldnt get past a door before the cyclops area that had an indent for a key.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Part 2 im back in th Capitol (I think again) and Ive switched to a worrier class and faught and killed two orgers in a cave because a merchant outside of it needed to get through. the fights with the ogers were the closest Ive come to diying in this game so far LvL 15. Question if I die in this game do I lose my money and displine points?

Congratulations on beating your Drake the final blow is oh so sweet is it not lol.
As to those Griffins,I find the best way to slay them is by fire.
They hate fire amongst other things although fire seems to do the trick the best.
When it lands try and just lay into it as much as you can so it catches fire.
Its good to have some good Rangers or Strider who can take it out with there flaming bows n arrows.
Thats all I can really say about that, sorry I hope it helps some how?.

I think DkS as conditioned you too much friend lol
No you do not lose anything if you die except your time.
If you carry a wakestone with you....you can have a second shot at it without going to the retry screen.
Glad you are enjoying the game.
Good hunting and good luck.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
It has.
Is there a place to buy Wake stones?
Also i have taken to buying lots of the greenwraith herb things at the starting village and keep about 99 on me and my main pawn incase im running low.
Is there a place where I could buy the materials to make potent health items in bulk?
I have about 20,000 coins usually on me.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Fournuvial has a shard but you have to find them most of the time and one of the quests requires you to give on to someone which is pretty cool and feels great to see that someone really does get up after they die.
I normally have about 200,000 Gold on me at all times Im only Lvl 25 and have now really great gear just a 3 start Broadsword and 2 star shield and a motley combination of various armours that make me look like a dashing wandering swords man.
God I just want to look like Savan.... although my guy had brown hair and a massive scar across his face. Aye its LETOS this is where I RP him (not in DKS)

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
I modeled my character after me so I used the tallest starting body type as the basis.
When I first did this I was like yep thats how it feels in real life for me freaking huge and looks like I could take on ogers by myself.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
In the Watergod's Altar place behind the waterfall you can actually get behind that locked door with the indent by, a few rooms north of it, doing a running jump across a stretch of water and grabbing onto the bottom of another open door. I don't think you're actually supposed to be able to do it this way, there is a quest that brings you back later that will help you open that door. But that was how I got around it the first time. You can also find a way to lower the water by jumping over some places, I think. The quest is only really useful for getting rid of all those really heavy tablets you find. I think it originates in Gran Soren.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Ok im a LVL 24 I evuntally died after completing an escort mission to a fort that was taken over by goblins and what killed me was two huge cyclops who aparently couldnt wait there turn to beat me to death. after that I came back killed them all ect quest complete. I found some guy who was selling some really expensive armor in the cave that used to have two ogers in it. So after grinding for like an hour and 30 minutes I now have eagle armor (I think that what it was called) and a new sword.
P.s I bought some like 5 food items and I just realized that if you hold them for a little while they get moldy. which I think is funny seeing as how your character doesnt really need to eat.
And now I got moldy berries and I dont know what to do with them.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Was that the Ancient Quarry you were in? That guy sells good stuff and there should be some chests and money lying around in that store as well.
And yeah food gets moldy and then rotten if it stays in your inventory. It doesn't seem to go bad if you leave it at an inn though. If you want to carry it, you can put it in airtight containers. Of all the food items you can find (not herbs, or healing water flasks etc), I prefer apples and grapes. Both heal a lot of hp when eaten and take a while to go bad.
Another random discovery is that if you hit mining outcroppings with a weapon, you can knock all the ore out onto the ground w/o having to mine it. I was doing this with a warrior and 2hd weapon so not sure if it works with lighter weapons.

I find if you have food that is rotten,if you flask it and then mix it with water it will turn it back to its normal state.
Not sure if it works with every rotten item,I will have to do more testing.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Ok I killed my first drake at lvl 25. near the fort that I took back from the goblins.
I died to it like 20 times and I almost had it like 2 times but the turd kept going in the air and I had no way of stoping him both time he had one health bar left. I finally gave up went to grand soren turned my self into an assisn so I could shoot him out of the air. ( Assasins cant wear hawk armor that I got) so I went back and wooped that drakes @$$!!!! then I proceed to kill a griffin before the actual quest to kill one then I did that quest so now I have 2 griffans 1 drake 1 chimera and 10 or 12 cyclops and 3 ogers under my belt that Ive killed.
Ive noticed their are scrolls that teach you how to fight certain beast how do they work and where do you get them.
EDIT: IM now at level 30 after I killed the last griffen.
I switched to the assasin vocation before I finished the fighter one, Do I lose anything because of that? will I benefit more from maxing a vocation?

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Appart from the minor stat changes ans bonuses maxing a vocations is pointless except for the vocation rank unlocks. Its really is getting the skills and augments you want from each tree.
AKA assassns use Sword SHield, Bow, DAggers, and like all vocations can use augments from every other vocation.
I always use the egression, sinew, bastion, and endurance ones for my fighter,

Also how does one get by the door guard that is out side the maidens door?.
