Sigs getting out of hand?

I hate to be that guy... but people's sigs are getting huge. Wasn't so bad when it was just a few people, but now a lot of people have giant sigs and it's making thread pages significantly longer than they need to be.

If I'm the only one who's annoyed by this, I can put up with it. If not, I'd suggest we at least start by suggesting people make use of spoiler tags more in their sigs. If they have 6 lines of different links, they could just create one:

Since I now have this giant sig courtesy of Bind's excellent work I deleted the quote that I had originally to at least somewhat shorten my sig, I'd hoped I did enough.

I wouldn't want everyone to have to get rid of their sweet new sigs! But I'd suggest the limit would be something like: that sig + 1-2 lines of text or a spoiler folder (for people who want more than 1-2 lines of text).

And I am usually a tidy man now. The old posts in the Archives were my fist posts, I mean my VERY first posts... on an old forum that was not as advanced. Later posts, no excuse, just following the trend

I think they are getting too big, the massive pictures along with the load of text gets a bit too much really

Sigs are something we have taken notice of. Right now we are working with the forum permissions to set a maximum size. However, we would like to ask our members to be mindful of their thumbprint and consider trimming back excessive sigs in the meantime. Please, be a good internet citizen, and sig responsibly.

Every forum I've ever been on, the max size of a sig was 150 x 500 although I've seen some smaller ones that look just as good if not better.

I can't help but feel like I'm partially to blame for the recent massive signatures...

I'll try to include a guideline in my thread. Maybe that way new users will know how much is too much.

I can trim the top half of your sig if you feel it is too large. Don't feel ungrateful.

I've tried to make it clear that I actually LIKE criticism. If you are unsatisfied with something, just let me know. Usually it only takes a few minutes of editing.

I'm not unsatisfied in the least, I'm in love with my sig, but if others are bothered by it, I could be persuaded to accommodate them.

My preference, however, would be to leave it untouched.

Anyways, back on topic.

I believe there should be a pixel limit. If a signature exceeds a certain pixel height, it should not be allowed. 250 pixels in height tends to be a good cap.

It's definitely a beautiful sig! Its height is 200 pixels which, on its own, I think is alright. But 200 pixels + lines of text would really start to be a lot.

But the mods/ admins are already on the case (and were before I raised the issue, from the sounds of it) so it's in their hands now. I'm sure we'll all be satisfied with what they decide.

How's my sig? I need some feedback, but I'd like to keep the text as is haha! So I redid my picture really fast.

Plus, the text itself is about the same size as a spoiler bracket.

EDIT: Fixed. Plus, I took out text *shrug* Who needs builds in their sig anyway? I just have the link to The Followers and then the Smiles and Hugs. It wouldn't be so bad to have more of those smiles and hugs in the same line, right?
