If you think Wyrm's new weapon restrictions are too, well, restrictive, vote "No." If you vote "No" I'd like to hear your alternative, no personal bashing of Wyrm will be tolerated. If anyone gets personal I'll ask that this thread be locked.

Oh right, altenative. The old uniforms being mandatory, the ban of lightning weapons, the restriction of the LH scythe and velkas rapier to rank 4+, and a retooling of the rank system to make the ranks more meaningful. I won't go into detail on the rank idea here, but I have already posted it.

I think the weapon rules are good - the reason why is because it encourages the new members to rank up as fast as possible to open up new choices.

I just looked and correct me if I'm wrong but the weapon just means that a broad amount of weapons get unlocked each time you rank up right?

I wouldn't see a problem with this mostly, but the was you guys rank up needing tests in BS, 3v1 and parries means that it does become fairly restrictive. For most players Rank 3 is the highest they will be able to go because of the tests needed to go higher.

If it was easier to rank up, it would be fine, but because it's so difficult to get above Rank 3 it could be argued that it's too restrictive. I can see why there wouldn't be a problem though, theres so many weapons available below the highest tiers I don't think should be too much issue.

Overall I'd say leaving the weapons system would be fine, but let people use stuff like catalysts/talismans, even bows and crossbows without ranking as reducing people's magic and ranged power drastically for no other reason than elitism is a bit much. There's always another melee weapon but longer range options are far more limited.

I realise I'm not a member of LH, but I thought I'd give an objective and unbiased view that the guys in the covenant can't give, it's all well and good getting the opinion of someone like Forum, but he's the top tier anyway so the rules don't affect him, if you see what I mean (sorry to use you as an example, you're just there lol)

They don't directly affect me, but if I'm unwilling to enforce them I hardly belong in a leadership position.

I say so. We need a uniform anyway or atleast need to remeber lore wise we are guardians of priscy's lands and or the outcasts of ever other sect the DkS world has to offer.

I'm looking at this from a pure RP point of view. We either need to reaffirm that our group has to have visible ties to the PW or atleast make it more clear who we are and what we do.

I was more hinting at the fact that you don't care if they're too limiting forum, obviously you can enforce them as they don't affect you, and don't have to use any limits yourself.

I already popped into their forums and offered my opinions. I concur with Forum on almost all points including the alternative.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about but if anything keeps me from my Ricard's I will not be happy.

I say everyone should have to use this exact build.

Ricard's is a rank 4 weapon, so you'll have to "train" with a little Rapier while being in the lower ranks. At rank 3 you'll be able to use the Estoc if you want and then at rank 4 you'll be able to use Ricard's.

Thing is it has been discussed and people have repeated their arguments to Wyrm over and over. Forum has argued his points and presented much more viable and logical alternatives. People aren't posting why they vote no because they are sick of repeating themselves just to have Wyrm not listen. It's a lot of wasted effort.

Lol yes, but it's just part of the role-playing. I'm doing it because I think it's fun to start in a covenant with the basic thing and then you get rewarded as you rank up. Right now LH don't have any reason to rank up. There's rank 5 headgear rewards that aren't much of an incentive for the majority of the players (excluding Forum and Spur who really wanted the crown and dragon body).

This thread wasn't intended to drudge up hurt feelings and bruised egos, it was just created to offer a more organized platform in which to discuss the Lifehunter's new standard operating procedure.

Two of Wyrm's most active and loyal members, Forum and Spurgun, have voiced their opposition to this. Two nonmembers, Federally and I, have offered the perspective of somebody viewing the cov from the outside. Two new members, Sacrilegious and Servant of Priscilla, voiced their concerns as well. How can Wyrm simply ignore this? Most of us have presented our arguments, some of us multiple times. How can Wyrm ignore that? Wyrm I hate to say it as I have the utmost respect for you but I can't help but feel you are being a bit selfish. You have this vision and you are so set on it that you are ignoring the majority opinion. This isn't what the Lifehunters are about, heck it isn't what these forums are about.

Well there a other covenants that have classes so I just wanted to have them with a touch of variety because I like variety that's what make us strong. So with all the ideas I had presented this one is the most viable for having variety so I don't know what's the problem, yet. Only Pendant have posted a build and it worked. The only problem I'm seeing is that most members don't wanna work for their favorite weapon and instead have to stick with a sometimes mediocre weapon or just ignore that weapon path till they get to a higher rank. In that case it's not really my problem because that depends on your dedication and hard work. I don't want people interested and leave at 1 week because they don't have any reason nor incentive to continue playing with us. So if anyone has a better idea they can suggest it, till then I put the rules and you can follow them and if not there are lots of covenants out there.

None of us have weapons restrictions like this. None of us. Not POLG a cosplay cov, not the Noble Knights who are an order of knights with strict rules, not Lordran's Deliverance which places restrictions upon members to ensure fairness. None of these covs have classes whcih restrict weapons like this. Which covs do you speak of?
