Gandalf the Grey?

My apologies if this doesn't belong here, but I do require some help constructing a certain build.

As you may have guessed, I wish to create Gandalf Greybeard. The problem is I've never played a Sorcerer class, and can't figure out effective leveling.

Gandalf will need to know some pretty knowledgeable spells, such as Cast Light (for those pesky Mines of Moria...I mean, Tomb of the Giants), but he needs to know powerful offensive magic. He'll need a good catalyst and an enchanted longsword.

What's a good way to level him, if I want to get as much as possible, while keeping my level low enough?

If you want to lower the sl, just take some vit and end away.

You can also switch out the enchanted longsword for a longsword so that you can buff it.

As far as I know, Gandalf the Grey didn't have powerful magic, but he was pretty damn resilient. He uses some kind of Force too.

Didn't he cast some kind of lightning? I don't really remember that nor the bow. Medium roll suits him well I guess.

I'm not sure of any lightning attacks. But I do know that incorporating Velka's Talisman and Force might just perfect this. Many thanks, guys!

@wrym, he did actually, he cast lightning on his sword at some point.


And the longbow thing was an error on my part hahaha. i have no clue why I was dead set on that as he never used it.


I'm thinking this may actually work better as a faith build, but use logans catalyst in your right hand just for style points. Then switch it out with a longsword for the close in combat.


Also, don't forget to invade and fight people on bridges, cast force until they fall off and then send them a message saying "YOU SHALL NOT PASS".

Wouldn't WotG be much more appropriate and effective the Force?

Judging by the look of his white shield he conjures whilst fighting the Balrog, I'd stick with Force. Plus this build is more meant for Int. versus Faith.

No, use Beatrice catalyst instead of logans - it is more staff resemblant especially if you aren't using spells

or even tin banishment because I believe his staff was white - wait as grey it was wood so aye - beatrice's

Beatrice's will definitely fit better for Grey, I was thinking the Izalith catalyst for the White

You could do Aragon - use silver knight sword because it is closest to Oathbreaker. Gimli would be impossible due to size structure.
