Boss Arena Mode?

Surfing over the Demon's Souls topic in Something Awful, I came to a small conversation where some guys mentioned that they would love to see a "boss arena" of sorts in the next Soul game.

You know, that would actually be quite interesting. Not just bosses, though.

How many Balder Knights can you take on?
How many Darkwraiths will be able to defeat without pause?
A friend of you isn't sure about purchasing a Souls game? Show them a battle against the coolest boss in the game, even if you already defeated him!

Rynn once found a modder on xbox who had changed the abyss to spawn waves of enemies after the kings were dead. Frankly its the one time I've been sad PS3 cant be modded easily.

It's certainly an interesting concept, and something that would go very nicely with the supposed Arena coming up in the Prepare to Die Edition (maybe as an option besides PvP).

On your last point though, I find that I don't have to have a boss fight at all to get friends interested. They just walk in on me playing, see me breeze through the game with (relative) ease, and say something along the lines of "THIS is that super tough game I've heard about? Sure doesn't look that hard." So I lend them the controller, let them spend 5 minutes in an empty room figuring out the controls, and let them have at it. From there it gets in their system and I don't have to do anything else to get them interested

If it was done well, a gladiator-esque ampitheatre could be a lot of fun and wouldnt detract from the story, could be a great multiplayer addition to traditional PvP.
Each 'theatre' could be themed so the Architecture and Enemies were consistent i.e four or five of 'us' versus 10 painting guardians, 10 Silver Knights, 5 Gargoyles, 5 Royal Sentinels, Ornstein and Smough & Gwyndolin in an Anor Londo themed battle royale, it could make for some truly epic scraps!!

Interesting thinking of some of the other combinations you could have too!

Which is why you need to buy the PC version

If From actually did this, I'd forgive them for some of their past games/Dark Souls zones.
