PS3 chat blows takes way too long to use lol.. I mean somewhere on the comp so it doesn't interrupt your game play.

You can only have a private chat on XBL, (1 on 1). The party chat function is disabled for XBL, if you join/are in a party it will kick you to the main menu and make you play in offline mode.

I can write quite fast messages in PS3 using the controller, but it still takes time because the it takes some time to open the PS menu, icons loading, new message loading, writing, sending, closing PS menu. It's about 20 seconds if I'm writing something short.

I personally think messaging isnt that bad on playstation.. 20 seconds isnt exactly long lol

20 seconds could mean live or death if you're standing in a pvp hot zone! I was thinking to have something like this for the player covenant they're trying to put together.

If someone was actually down to pay for and host a public vent channel, hell yeah that would be cool. Seperate rooms for every co-op area would be awesome, just hop in the room and see who's playing in your area and link up with them. It would really help fix the connecting issues people have. Even an IRC would be pretty cool.

Isn't Team Speak free? I remember using ventrilo and TS for when I played FFXI. There's also a thing called uh.. Tinychat? Something like that that allows the use of cams as well as a chat function. But having it split up by zones for pvp would be sick.

I use the txt chat option on ps3 and its fine just remember to hit the PS button to enter/exit the room (once you are in there and typing) directly, and with a USB keyboard plugged in you can msg very quickly. I think I may have introduced mildred to the option the other week ? too many people use msg which is slow and clunky but txt chat or even voice is a much better way to go on PS3
