I got a bit bored, so I decided to make my first Egghead character. First thing I did after leaving the Asylum was Master Key down to Btown, pop one of the Egg-burdened outside Quelaag to get infected, Homeward Boned back to Firelink, and waited until I got infected. I then ran to get the Silver Serpent Ring that was waiting in my BB, and returned to Firelink. Now here's where I get confused. With no extra farming and getting only 60% the normal amount of souls, how am I still keeping up with levelling and buying items? Seriously, this whole playthrough with the Egghead on 100% of the time I've never fallen behind in souls. What gives?

(100+20)-50=70? if you overkill it's ((100+20)+20) - 50 so you could be getting closer to 90% or so, I think... maybe.....

He's getting 60% of the souls. Pretty sure you apply the 50% reduction after everything else.
Maybe you just dont need as much reaper Or is your build slightly different and requires less materials?

((1+0.2)/2)100 = 60
((Normal soul gains + 20% extra from SSR)/Halved for the Egghead)times 100 to make it into the correct percentage number
Forgive me if my structuring was incorrect, been a while since I've been in a math class
I AM using a nearly fully upgraded Large Club with 50 strength, so maybe overkill is factoring in, but I doubt it would be often enough to be quite THIS significant :|

Well to be as bulky and awkward-looking as possible (to match the Egghead ) I'm using Havel's Shield, Catarina Armor and Gauntlets, and Smough's legs with a Large Club. So I guess my build is actually a little light on necessary materials what with not having to upgrade the shield, using only Twinkling titanite to upgrade my armor, and using all the normal titanite I find on my weapon.

Heey my PvP Egghead uses The Large Club aswell ., throw on a Rotten Resin and we are good to go
I love it and use it with 30 strength., it's the only strength weapon in the game I actually like !
If you have a pyro glove with combustion on the left , try combusting from a distance to bait & lure someone into that awesome R2 attack :pirat:
Pre-patch 1.05 it would've been much harder collecting souls through PvE with the egghead-parasite leeching of of your souls. :affraid:
