So, I am a new fan to Dark Souls, and I'm coming up on completing my first play through. I'm just starting to get interested in the pvp stuff but was wondering what kind of conduct is expected in an honourable duel. I get bowing and 1v1 and stuff, but I know there's overpowered stuff in the game. Is there any equipment, spells, or tactics that are generally considered unfair in pvp?

Re: Honour Tips
Welcome to the forums. Be careful here, you'll get a lot of people sayign who cares about honour etc. The first thing is the difference between an invasion and a duel. If someone invades you, or you invade someone they arent going to be honourable. they are going to do everything they can to kill you. Im not saying you should do that too, but just be aware of that. Duels occur when you either summon someone by the RSS, or get summoned by the RSS. In that case its likely the person will due somewhat honourably. of course each persons style of honour is different, so still be careful.
For a good idea of what is considered honourable check out the FC thread (its stickied in the pvp section). Look at the rules for FC and thats a good place to start. Also stay away from the forest, bad idea to go there. Hope that helps.

Hello? Pandora? Here's a box for ya
Welcome to the forums. This question might be like unleashing a host of evils. There's no consensus. A few things that draw musky frowns yeah but honor is subjective. For the record, I'm fine with anything short of modding

No! Damn it skare that's my cupcake stash!
It's subjective, mate. But don't let it hold you back, after all there ARE groups that will gladly get dishonorable if you decide to be a jerk in some way. My honor code is do unto others and all that, so I won't use pyromancy if you don't use magic, and I won't bs if you aren't fishing for one.

Re: Honour Tips
The miracle "Tranquil Walk of Peace" is considered cheap, as well as spamming the miracle Wrath of the Gods and the pyromancy Great Combustion. Fishing for backstabs is generally considered cheap, as is healing in the middle of a duel. Chain bsing is another cheap tactic, and generally all forms of glitching. The only weapon that's debatably overpowered, though certainly overused, is the Black Knight Great Axe. It's also looked down on to use the Giants Armor, Mask of the Mother, an Elemental weapon, high Vitality, and the Dark Wood Grain Ring all at the same time.

Re: Honour Tips
It's important to make the distinction between cheap and really annoying. Personally, the vast majority of things regularly referred to as cheap just annoy the **** out of me. I still acknowledge their legitimacy though.

Re: Honour Tips
That's true Damage, but i think that for OP who's looking for honorable 1v1 conduct and wants to avoid overpowered stuff, there's not much of a distinction.

Re: Honour Tips
He did specify duel, not invasion. Which means he's talking about RSS duels or people who are hosting for pvp.

I only expect honor when the person RSS summons me. I feel that just like the dragon covenant, our symbol shouldn't be seeable unless you're alone.

Re: Honour Tips
To the OP- if it's honor you're looking for join one of the FC's, it'll teach you a lot of what you need to know about PvP.
