Baller Swag Sword!

Just wanted to hear some opinions of this sword. I just made a Vit/DEx build for zero poise matches and i have to say it's pretty amazing. Probably my favorite moveset of the longswords.

It's great. I don't use too much, and I really can't say why...

But, of course, it's a wonderful weapon.

Epic moveset, awesome speed, decent damage. Best longsword and 1 of the best of all weapons.

Ps. And even better if you buff it.

Decent damage? It's the most OP weapon I have ever seen. With leo ring the strong thrusting attack does about 700 damage. OP OP OP.

We were talking about the bss, not the Leo ring. but yes the Leo ring is op lol

And I find that it uses very little stamina per swing. I currently use it +15 with 45 dex. Does very good damage even then, but this is against zero poise enemies like I said, so it might not match up against heavily armoured foes. As for buffing... I just feel like it's cheap to buff an already powerful weapon so I don't.

Mildred, the strong attack is just too powerful, even without leo it deals about 500 damage unbuffed. The thing is, it usually connects because of lag and insane range. I deal about 500 damage with a single swing of a DGM. It's DPS is very high. Same thing happens with the Claymore thrust attack. It's way OP.

Agree 100%, I only buff it if I'm against 2 or 3 people.

Yes wrym I hear you and was just being an *** for yucks. But remember that the thrust is rather slow and can be easily punished if you miss..... So the thrust is a risk/reward type balance.

I agree, maneater. I have no qualms about buffing if i'm being gangbanged by multiple baddies.

BSS is one of the best receivers of buffs out there. Low stamina cost on swings, an amazing moveset (I think it's worst option is roll attack, and even then it's better than some other weapons roll attacks) Low reqs so excellent for 50 int or Fai builds as it can attain A scaling for Int or B for Fai, though at 50 Faith Sunlightblade turns BSS into a monster even with only the minimum str/dex (same can be said for CMW and int builds)

BSS would never talk about you behind your back.

I think it also one time was reported to have cured the black plague.

I mean seriously this sword isn't bad at anything.

Sometimes when others aren't looking I like to cuddle up next to my BSS and pretend we're on a far away island, where we can just be ourselves and frolic in the sand. Sometimes my BSS gets jealous of my other swords, but I tell her they don't mean a thing to me, and she is the only sword i'll ever love. No one can please me like my BSS does. She is my world.

My favorite sword, I didn't understand the praise until I tried it for myself and I never went back. I honestly regret every moment I played DkS before I tried the BSS. On new characters, I get stressed out until I can get my first BSS drop and life finally begins again. My favorite character has a complete set of BSS on every upgrade path (legit, no BB glitch), and they're light enough that I often equip 2 different ones in RH so I can switch on the fly and baffle opponents with alternating fire and lightning zaps. I call the chaos one Bitey.

Hows the damage on an elemental one at SL120? I'm making a lower level build but i still want to be able to invade and duel higher level players without too much worry.

I wouldn't make it elemental. Balder Side Sword +15 with a buff is the best.

I never saw the greatness if the sword though I did duel Fed who was using one the other night and buffed that thing is a monster.....

I;m not going to be high enough level for +15 to be viable, or having a hybrid build.

Yea, at 120 +15 is the way to go.

So many people are using these days that can be compared to a katana.

I'm currently searching for a similar weapon with same weight for my toon, with no luck

Estoc is good. Instead of a power poke you have a normal poke, and instead of a normal slash you have a power slash. It's like the same move set but backwards

The BSS is a great weapon....huge dmg with the thrust...great moveset...awesome with a buff ect I use it often and love it myself...in the right hands its a lethal weapon...BUT maybe I have just faced waaaaaay to many BSS users because for me it is one of the easiest weapons to parry

This is the kinda thing that makes me go... "why do ppl hate the BKGA"... BBS is clearly used more. I find the Hypocrisy amusing.

I have a level 55 that hangs around sen's and uses a +10 fire BSS and it's damage is competitve.

I've dueled a few 120s with lightning ones and something insane like 80+ Vit gouges.

Also while the BSS is popular it has a varried moveset and both 1h and 2h gets used. BKGA is excellent at stunlocking and a monster for crits. Players tend to dislike stuns and crits more than a poke or two that isn't behind a shield. It's more about perception that how the weapons actually perform.
