Black Phantom in Undead Parish?

So I was summoned on a NG+ to some guys world and on our way to the Gargoyle, he was invaded, no biggy, so we waited at the bottom of the church near where the iron giant guy would be.

We waited a couple and finally a Black Phantom came waltzing up, and it was an iron giant black phantom. Same size, same weapon, and I'm really sure it was an AI seeing as how when it died it only gave 2000 souls. When we got to the gargoyle, the real black phantom guy was just chilling there, and when killed him, it gave it's normal excessive large quantity of souls, so I'm assuming he was human.

So my question, I've never seen the first Black Phantom before, was that a summon, a spell, a NG+ feature or what?

Gravelord'd before you were summoned, perhaps?

I'm not sure what that would entail honestly, I don't know much about the Gravelord stuff. I am aware it makes the game harder for some one in a another world. So would it send Black Phantom AI to do that?

the guy who summoned you probaly were infected by a gravelord and invaded by a darkwraith at the same time, bad luck.

Yeah, Gravelord curse will turn enemies red and make them difficult. And then invaded by the wraith... Bad luck, like Carphil said lol

Expect to see more black phantom mobs this weekend (hopefully). A bunch of us are getting together and stepping up the gravelord cursing to create a pseudo-world-tendency-event. If you're interested, you should join the fun as either a gravelord or a Way of the White gravelord kiler.
