    Everlasting Dragons Empty Everlasting Dragons

Post by ThatPerson Sun Sep 09, 2012 8:33 am

About the Everlasting Dragons, I don't think they're alive. Life could be seen as a weakness to them. They could be a part of nature itself and be animated and kept living by the Primordial Crystal. Thoughts? (Apologies if it's been posted before, I'm new.)

    Welcome to the forums!
The primordial crystal is unlikely related to their life as the one in ash lake doesnt die when you destroy it. Although I like th enot alive part (Suck it Shkar!). Its possible they a more a feature of nature than alive. But that begs of the odd question of what actually are they, and why are hey animate?
Thats a Sword Art Online avatar isnt it?

I may have worded that wrongly, I think the Primordial Crystal gives them life, but only enough for them to act on their own wills. The dragon in Ash Lake doesn't attack you, even if you cut off it's tail, which is interesting to me. And yes, it is a SAO avatar!

He dosent attack you because you just dont hurt him, dragon priests seek another plane of existence which transcends life and as they seek to be like dragons that means dragons already found that...

So dragons are not without life they are the 'true living' that passed beyond the limits of life as we know it...

Suck it Dough! Look back over the last few days of lore chat in this sub-forum. I've had several people start accepting my ideas.

Now, I pose a question for you. If the dragons are so "barely "living"", how is it that they go about and reproduce?

It may be far fetched, but I think the scales of immortality itself are like nature. Thats why Seath is more 'alive', I think. And the Ash Lake dragon is a Stone Dragon.

I don't see how that lets them mate while barely being "alive".

ThatPerson Welcome. i can see you will be a valuble addition to the forums. I don't think the primordial crystal animates dragons though. it seems more likly that it has simply adapted for that purpose by seath. What is the description of dragon scales? thats coming to mind here, i think it says something about them being the source of a dragons immortality. Thats why seath wanted the crystal. he wasnt born with scales. Dragons i think are technically alive.

As far as I see it, there isn't a single definition of "alive" that they don't fit. They are sentient, they can move, they can die, they can die, and they eat, breath, and (presumably) sleep; that's life.

Most of the dragons probably had some kind of elemental breath, whether it was lightning, fire, or something else (see the wyverns and drakes). The ones we see are lightning and fire, which are both at least related to the sun or the flame, which show signs of being connected. So, it seems likely to me that they are at least connected to the flame in some way, even if nobody else agrees that they came AFTER the flame.
