I'm getting annoyed...

PVP Matches in the UB:

Fight 1: Dex Build, Death by BS with HR
Fight 2: Elemental Greataxe tank, Death by BS with HR
Fight 3: Katana wielder, Death by BS
Fight 4: Magic user, Death by very clever use of magic
Fight 5: Spear user, Death by BS
Fight 6: Katana Tank, Death by being better than me
Fight 7: Unknown build, Death by BS with HR

I'm getting sick of this...2 good fights out of 7? Also, I find it ironic that the Tank didn't BS despite his build was useful for this, yet all the others that can do a bunch of things have to rely on the BS! I seriously do not want to resort to counter BS every single person I see. I want to grab the Stone GS and beat them to a pulp with it as they try their futile BS attempts!

So yeah, what has the Burg come to? It was more actual fighting in the past...

Eh that is just how people play, best thing you can do is find some players you enjoy fighting and duel them. If you have a fun fight with someone, send a friend request, and try to fight them again in the future. At least there wont be tons of 2000k HP 77poise flipping builds with hornets and strength weapons. PvP will be far from perfect, but it should be a lot more fun. I honestly think a lot of the people who rely on those god mode builds will just stop playing. Especially the ones who still refuse to practice with fast roll, under the new patch rules. DWGR/76poise/and plenty of stats for those stacks of wrath, will be a thing of the past soon. A lot of people will just not be able to deal with losing while they get a hang of the new patch changes, and will most likely quit.

what fpn said, a lot of them will rage quit but people will still abuse bs to get a win, its just how most people play sionce that's what they always go up against so they figure that;s how youre expected to play.

I personally can tolerate backstabs, but I don't force others to. The reason that I tolerate it is twofold: (1) they are seldom OHKO in my experiences PvPing @ SL 121 (unless the other player is wielding an uber^epic weapon with 1000 AR); and (2) the fully lethal chain BS's (that BS abusers like to do) can be avoided easily. It's all personal preference though as to whether or not BS's make a fight fair.

Sometimes you'll have to do nothing except counter BS.

If you're not invading/hosting to duel but for the souls/humanity bsing is the fastest way to take care of other players. Especially at lower soul levels. Especially when the majority of players will bs you or rattle off multiple casts of wog or gc if you don't bs them first.

Thats a good point. Depending on how you look, move, or whatever weps you've got in your hands you could give off an impression of a spell spammer or whatever. Or maybe you dont. Maybe theyre just used to the same crap and they dont give everyone a fresh, unbiased view like you do.

So I guess props to you OP for keeping objective, but maybe you should dirty your tactics a little

Also, if you really hate HR backstabbers and you want a surefire way to avoid it, grab some WotG and spam up, bro!

I can't believe I didn't mention this before: If you hate backstabs duel on the rotation staircase at Anor Londo. For some reason, you can't do backstabs or ripostes there.

I'm not getting mad at cheap people, I'm getting mad at the absurd amount of BS fishers in the burg. I hate counter BSing because then all my games would be "He going for BS, K, Counter BS; Win". If I was really interested in that sort of playstyle, I might as well BS fish too!

It ruins the fun because it limits the weapons one can use. The very reason you can't use STR weapon is because you'll get BSed left and right if you do. I'm not saying BS is a no-no, but more times than not, I'm BSed cause of lag than an actual punishable attack.

Is Anor Londo a hotspot at 100 near the rotating bridge? I want to see those BS fishers there...

Nah, it doesn't seem a good fight when all your opponent does is going for an instant-kill backstab.

people, if any of you have problems with BS fishers there are a few ways to punish those fishers:
1. when you see they start to walk to your shoulder start walking backwards, and when he gets close move the stick left or right (if he goes for the left shoulder then move the stick left and the opposite), and than you will be able to BS him back. not very complecated.
2. kick them when they get near you, and than strike. rather simple.
there is also a method to parry them, but its kinda complecated (i think there are a few videos about parrying BS fishers, you should watch them).

BS fishing doesn't bother me. It's way too easy to kill the silly fillies.

It never bothered me on Xbox rynn, but I find I get BS'd all the time on playstation.

Same network connection, hdmi instead of component, but for some reason, constantly backstabbed on the playstation; its annoying.

Xbox, with the better network, no issues.

Yeah. That's why i bought this game on X-box, despite the lower population, and owning a PS3. I purchase games depending on what system plays it better, regardless of population.

What level are you pvp'n there?

I PvP levels 45, level 85, and level 300 hosting.

I aggree re the lag issue. I was invaded in darkroot, and was dueling ok'ish, strafing, and waiting for the right moment while using some pyromancy to keep him at bay. Then suddenly the invader "glitches" behind me, and prompty back stabs me! Did not enjoy that as it's not like i left myself open for the invader to BS. Was one time invaded on the bridge under the dragon where you get the drake sword from. The guy invades, and me being a genteel person, bow. To which my invader promptly kicks me! Not nice, so i promptly ran off the bridge. Didn't want to give him the satisfaction of killing me. To this day, I wait for my invader to bow, shield up.

There is backstabbing and then there is is backstab along with lag. The lagstab is impossible to defend against and it's not really the other players fault, on his screen he is in the right position. It's just frustrating when it happens against a player who is doing nothing but trying to BS. I love when the BS animation shows up and the guy is in front of you or you are about to come out of a roll and instead you end up in the BS animation.

Lag affects multiple things though, including magic like CSS. You can think you are clear of someone and take a huge amount of damage.
