Right up until the release of Halo 4 for the Xbox, Dark Souls was heavily populated by players. Put down a sign, and you get summoned within seconds for the most part. But since the day Halo 4 came out, the place has become a ghost town most times of the day. Is this just my bad luck, or is anyone else finding the place a bit empty for the last few days? Maybe it's just a coincidence. I even resorted to switching the inputs on my TV and playing Demon's Souls while waiting for a summon or an arena match.

Re: Damn you, Halo 4!
Then: 8/10 friends are playing Dark Souls
Now: 7/10 friends are playing Halo 4
However it doesnt really matter, I know they will come crawling back (I hope).

Re: Damn you, Halo 4!
I feel ya. My level 130 on NG ++ is getting invaded pretty regularly. Coop has been hard to find at most levels (below 130), and it seems that when I do find a person either they or me usually opt to help eachother out for several areas.
I bought Halo 4, played it for a solid day, and am already back to DKS.
If you need a coop partner, I have level 40 and 130 toons, and gamertag FOODSMITH

Well, when there's a new blockbuster game like Halo, you gotta expect this to happen.

Bah to the Halo4, from this PS3 user. Not much of a Black Ops player to be either. Still playin DkS but a little less because of the Visual glitch.

Re: Damn you, Halo 4!
im just sticking to the non dlc areas with a new toon while waiting for the glitch to be sorted out, and i haven't seen a game appealing enough to distract me from dks since last year...

Re: Damn you, Halo 4!
Hey hey, maybe things are looking up. Friday night was busy busy busy in all the DLC areas. Lots of summoning, invasions, and Arena matches. Could it be? People played Halo 4 for a couple of days, realized it was just another rinse & repeat sequel, and came back to some quality gaming?
There are so many different things to do and try in this game, and I think that's what keeps bringing me back. Last night I helped two different people who very clearly had not gone through the Oolacile Township last night. Nice to give them a hand with some of the tricky bits.

Absolutely. I can even still PvE after countless hours/playthroughs because of the insane variety in this game.Back Lot Basher wrote:There are so many different things to do and try in this game, and I think that's what keeps bringing me back.
Now I finally discovered the joys of dual-wielding, so I'm doing a turn on my main as a Wanderer (his original class) with dual Scimitars.
I think next playthrough I'm gonna try rh-claw, lh-whip.

Re: Damn you, Halo 4!
I've been thinking of rolling the game with my level 3 Dragonbro, and trying a fists only play on NG+. The fists and bite move pack a pretty decent punch, especially with the buff from its roar. For example, I hit the first pus-head in Oolacile Township for 505 damage the other day, just using a fist. I was actually pretty shocked. Of course, I'm still trying to imagine doing this with no bow use.
I'd also like to try the Darkwraith Covenant (I joined for the cheevo, but didn't do any more).
