Can the DGM stunlock?

Well, can it? I know the zwei can, but the DGM has a bit slower swing speed, so i'm guessing stunlocking will be nigh impossible. Regardless of whether or not it can, is it any good for pvp? I was thinking of doing some (for the 1st time in months), but i don't want to get ROFLstomped by a bunch of people with lighter gear.

Yes it can, it can dead angle very well also.

yep, it the best ugs for a pure str build too. and the swing speed is the same btw.

Is it? I was testing them out before, am the DGM seems significantly slower than the zwei. If not, then even better... but WHY does the R2 attacks have to be so bad???

becasue its so awesome it has to have a something that's bad about it. just go with the jumping attack since you'll have a much easier time landing it thant the reg r2.

Ok. I just came up with this build, what do you think? I know giant's is overused, but there's a damn good reason for that (i.e. its GOOD). Also I feel its ok to use the mask now they've all been nerfed.

Also there should be an oolacile ivory catalyst in the 2nd left hand slot, forgot to add it.

looks good to me, i love the stone shield, its very underrated and it looks awesome.

Yeah, i've seen people raving about a magic giant's shield, but stone is way better, only weighs 2 more and has better elemental defence overall, and way better stability.

Also: whats the best way to deal with Backstabbers? They'll just run circles around me with their dark silver tracers and hornet's rings, I can see it now.

lol alway unlock andright after your first swing aim your second swing behind you so they end up getting stunlocked instead of a bs. also try to aim your first attack towards the angle that theyre trying to bs you from.

DGM + shield isn't a good combination in my opinion. You'll always try to stunlock by 2 handing the sword. Since you're medium rolling you need more poise, here's my suggestion. You'll have an elemental Pike as backup.

I know i'll be 2-handing it mostly, but I always like to be able to have a decent shield so I can block, and I can't take any more hits from anything without being staggered with 93 poise than I can with 77.

Also, I don't really want to replace my crystal weapon after every match, I'm not farming slabs for a slight increase in damage.

93 poise can save you from a 3 spear hit spam, which is the most annoying tactic most spear users do. Once they brake your poise they'll continue to spam the spear to stunlock you and then roll away. Since you're medium rolling your walking speed is also slow, so you must be able to tank the hits while walking to your enemy and then attacking.

Didn't EWGF run a test on the UGSes and conclude that only the Zwei and GS were capable of stunlocking?
