Shield Bash with normal shield

I posted this on the gamefaqs forums but i figured why not here too?
just switch L1 out with LB if you are playing with a 360 controller

i just found out how you do the shield bash with a normal/parry shield (crest shield for example) like the silver knights do:
-have a normal shield equipped in your off-hand
-now two-hand your weapon and press L1 to block with it and hold L1
-while still pressing L1 open your menu and switch your shield to a different normal shield
-quickly close your menu and when done correctly you will do that stupid shield bash

not really useful but interesting i guess

I can't get it to work. And i agree with sciicers, it's too impractical to do any harm.

Or you could just equip the Crystal Shield and hit L2. Just saiyan

I think a video of this was posted here already but yeah, its a harmless glitch imo. Not gonna win you any pvp fights for sure.

what are you doing and what shields are you using?

I was usng a balder shield, then switched to grass crest.

My guess s i'm not closing the menu fast enough

you dont even need to close the menu, that is just so that you can see it
your character should do the animation as soon as you switch your shield
also try using the circle button for menu closing, thats what i did

edit: i just tried it with your shields, maybe because of the grass crest shield effect it does not work
oh well whatever, its not useful at all though

You don't have to hold the block button. You can just press L1/LB once and jog/walk for a few minutes and it would still work. As long as you don't do any actions like attacking, using items, rolling, etc. And it doesn't work with every weapon type. It mostly works with DEX weapons. It works at least with daggers, curved swords, katanas, rapiers, whips and bows. Some other weapons might work too. I haven't tried them all.

And if you switch your left hand item into a dark hand, it will do the humanity suck.

apparently even the really small shields like the target shield works with this

This shield bash happens to me whenever I have my bow equipped and ready and change one of my weapons in menu.
