I was thinking about getting Ocarina of Time, but what else is good on the 3DS?

Bought a 3DS...now what.
I was at a friends house, and we were hanging out, when we both learned of the new Pokemon game for the 3DS. I jokingly asked him if I could buy his 3DS and he agreed, so now I own a 3DS for the low low price of $60, I got Mario Kart 7 and Blazblue in the deal for free, but now I'm left wondering what else to get.

Yeah, Pokemon's a given, it was the reason I bought my DS, my GBA and my original Grey Brick.Vinyl Scratch wrote:Poke'mon: X and Y. Resident Evil: Revelations and that's about it.
Is Revelations really that good, I've been weary about Resident Evil ever since 5.

Re: Bought a 3DS...now what.
It's not that awesome, but it's still fun to play. Diffirent diffirent I've struggled to beat on easy difficulty. To me there's not that many great games on the 3DS, atleast not yet. Altough I do want to play that Kid Icirus game for the 3DS. I have yet to buy it. Been busy with other games anyway.
I really wish they would bring back Castlevania: Circle of the Moon on the 3DS Wi-Fi Shop. I loved that game as a kid.

If nothing else, I still have access to the immense catalouge of DS games, I might go bargain hunting and search for a few gems that might have slipped my grasp.
The World Ends with You seems like a good start, maybe some of the Kirby Games.

The only thing that bothers me about this system is that it's kinda uncomfortable to hold, can anybody recommend a grip or something?

There is no real grip to get, you just get used to it.
A couple of games I'd reccomend would be Tales of the Abyss, Ocarina of Time (of course) definitely get the world ends with you (to get a better resolution on DS games hold select as you open the game it makes the screen size smaller but the resolution is perfect) Kid Icarus: Uprising is decent and if you haven't got 5th gen pokemon get pokemon black/white 2. Also if you're into stealth games Metal Gear Solid 3D snakeater is pretty good.

I would recommend getting the Fire Emblem Games .
Theyre rather difficult turn based strategy Games with corny stories (ancient Evil causes War and Prince must be hero)

Yeah. Playing the regular 3DS is a pain. I want a 3DS XL when I can get one.

I just played Style Savvy on a friend's 3DS... I am sold! LOL
Picking up a copy for myself tomorrow. You probably wouldn't play it though. Or maybe you would? 8)

A new Monster Hunter (Ultimate) and Fire Emblem (Awakening) come out soon.
Isn't there a Paper Mario out for it too?

Apparently Tales of the Abyss was remade for the 3ds and is supposed to be a really good game.

Re: Bought a 3DS...now what.
Tales of the Abyss is very good for 3DS. As for Paper Mario it isn't the regular Paper Mario (RPG style) but it's more of a platformer/turnbased combat hybrid. It's just not as good as the ones on N64 or Gamecube. Not worth it IMO.

^ Oh God, for some reason I can't see why people LIKE that game. It's like playing an action RPG, with a toothpick for a sword and peas for magic. None of your attacks have weight and it seems like Disney is just there at every turn ruining the game. It could have been a decent range of games alone, but Disney had to put their foot in the door and now it sucks. The worlds seem out of place and the combat is bland, repetitive and not challenging at all. It's also a MUHUSSIVE corridor.

I'm personally in it for the story, visual effects, attack combos, and the characters.

Re: Bought a 3DS...now what.
I can't see why people play games just for the story (this isn't against you X but just in general). I mean if the gameplay is bland and repetitive, why drag yourself through it? It's mindnumbing and laborious working through a game to find out what happens, like in FFXIII. I can't see the appeal of playing a game for the story, if you want a story, read a book or something.

Re: Bought a 3DS...now what.
Haha, I agree for the most part. I played the first game at a fairly young age though, so both the combat and story were incredible to me. I guess I kind of just stuck with them for the most part. I do prefer a weighty combat system like Dark Souls, but I believe KH gets the job done for what it's going for. I also prefer RPG's with little to no story, allowing you to create your own, but I believe certain games sell stories better than a book would.

Re: Bought a 3DS...now what.
Yeah, but when I played KH I expected I don't know... something. Tales of the Abyss did that kind of combat really well, the weapons staggered enemies you could block effectively etc. But in KH you might as well have been tapping them on the foot with a toothpick, the bosses didn't react, nor did the mobs. It's just the fatal flaw in the gameplay that drove me away from it. Also the fact that Disney settings/characters were in there for next to no reason at all, it added nothing to the story, if anything it took away from the story. Just the game could have been so much more with better combat and no Disney.
Well KH fans may have a Star Wars level to look forward to in the next game though, so good for you KH fans.

Re: Bought a 3DS...now what.
To me, the whole game was like a bad fan fic. Let's hope Disney doesn't acquire other franchises. The the World Ends With you level in KH3D sucked, it didn't even grasp the story at all, it was horrendous.
