That Fallout IV is in the pipeline and may well be announced shortly. PLEASE make it so!

I hope they put some time into sorting the issues with the ps3...

i heard its gonna take place in the Commonwealth, just a rumor though

DOIT IM buying a new Gaming Desktop to play a modded fallout NV, Xcom, and Fallout 4!

I'm not buying another Bethesda game until a reputable poster from this forum ensures me that the combat does not suck.

at the very least i hope they upgrade to the same engine as skyrim, i dont think i could justify paying for another Oblivion with guns

I still haven't finished Fallout 3. I got an hour or so passed where your blank gets blanked by some blanks. It was fun, and i had a big stash of gear in a chest of some house where i murdered the whole family, i should go back and check it out. They deserved it by the way, they had dead bodies in the basement and the fridge.

I think that house wont be able to protect all your stuff... i.e. if you wait too many days before returning your stash will be "stolen" I quite enjoyed my home at the Washington monument, elevator to a penthouse suite with a view of the capital. Brotherhood guards and turrets at the door, and its just a hop skip and jump away from FEV reject territory.

I wouldn't call myself a 'reputable poster' but imo the combat doesn't suck, it just takes a little while to get used to, although in Skyrim I tend to use bows a lot since I like the stealthy sniper approach. I would agree though that melee is a different 'can of worms' from Dark Souls. It's extremely 'hit and miss' which is why I use the Sanguin Rose if there's more than one opponenent and send in my Daedra to thin them out a bit first.

Combat in fallout is way better than in skyrim/oblivion, (well, not melee, but most combat in fallout is gun based,) the system is much better suited to gun combat. If you're looking for far cry style gun play though, it isn't happening. The difference is that fallout is an RPG first and shooter second, so 1 head shot won't kill many enemies until you have a fully repaired 8000 cap gun and 75 skill points, and even then the brotherhood of steal or a deathclaw will ruin your day in one hell of a hurry.

EDIT: never buy bethesda games for sony systems.

I've fully enjoyed all he Fallout games (old and new) and I'm probably going to enjoy Fallout 4 too
