Anyone else have this problem? Or is it just my controller **** out? Lol. Either way...it's the bane of my speed running existence.

Stupid Controller
Man, so, I'll be all like speeding through an opening game, making "suicide" runs to grab the New Londo firekeeper soul, or the the graveyard soul items, just runnng and running, and then, when I need to run the most...my controller just decides that it doesn't want me to run, I guess it loses pressure on the analog stick and my poor little guy goes from running and potential survivor to...walking...in the middle of tons of mobs and then deeead.
Anyone else have this problem? Or is it just my controller **** out? Lol. Either way...it's the bane of my speed running existence.

Re: Stupid Controller
Might be your controller..?
Mine is on the fritz it just randomly has a massive vibrating fit and all the buttons activate simultaneously then it goes dead for a few seconds then works like a normal controller..
It's rather odd.
So yeah... Controller most likely.

Re: Stupid Controller
Lol it's terrible, I'll be running through New Londo and have all the ghosts after me, and then...not running. Which we all know is just terrible...just...terrible *shudders* And I can't even think about PVP unless I'm tanked out.

Re: Stupid Controller
i've noticed that you can hold the run button down and not actually start running right away, i think it has to do with trying to run while your stamina bar is empty, if you continue to hold the button while your stamina regenerates you won't actually start running until you let go and press it again.

You can still run when that happens, however ou can't sprint.
The OP said he was forced to walk

Yeah, it's really lame when you are in NG+ running to Seath's boss fog but in the middle of the clams the controller fizzes out and you are now walking....you seen six clams vs. one guy? (innuendo aside)

Re: Stupid Controller
PS3. My original controller tends to make the character continue to move forward if I let go of the toggle. Sucks. Have gone off cliffs, moved towards enemies when I meant to stop, etc.
Bought one of those PowerA controllers ( wireless). Placement of button are toggles are different from standard Sony controller so it takes getting used to. While comfortable in hand, I Don't use it much, though. I just charge one of the Sony controllers while using the other. Sucks when they break or batteries go dead ( and you don't want to attempt to change the batteries) as they are 60 bucks at Walmart .

Re: Stupid Controller
I just decided to spoil myself and buy a new controller today. All the issues I've been having in the last couple months were definitely the controller. Just feeling the way the new joysticks and buttons respond is amazing. It's like trading in a clunker for a porsche.

Re: Stupid Controller
I think my controler problem is worse. Lets see all the ways my ps3 controler has messed me over with my messed up right trigger that will activate if i move the controler...
Acidentally killed dusk 3 times
Hit andre
Hit giant blacksmith
Hit alvina
Hit pretty much every Npc you can
Launched myself off cliffs
Killed a few low level rss trading partners
I could go on. I want a new one, but have been to cheap to buy one. I should have bought one when bestbuy had them on sale for cheap.

Re: Stupid Controller
Mine started wigging out and triggering all kinds of wacky things right in the middle of a duel the other night. I'd been winning too, and suddenly I started swapping out the equips in both of my hands super fast and tossing throwing knives in odd directions. My opponent, bless him, didn't even come in for the attack. He just stood back and watched. I'm thinking he may have known what was happening.

Re: Stupid Controller
Happened to me, I had to buy a new controller. Somehow, the controller sees input on the analog stick as input on the d-pad. Being gentle with your stick prevents it from happening for the most part, but in the heat of PvP you tend to forget that and it gets worse.Carphil wrote:Isirith wrote:Might be your controller..?

Re: Stupid Controller
Honestly I think RE6 is what did it to me. All those quick-time events where you have to circle the joystick over and over as fast as possible. Can't be good for the controller. I don't know why developers think that crap is a good idea.

Re: Stupid Controller
I'm not a fan. I feel like most of the time one is going on, something cool that I want to be seeing is also happening, but instead of watching it, and enjoying it, I'm either staring at one small unrelated part of the screen, or intently trying to stare at the screen in its entirety, without really seeing anything, waiting for a button prompt to pop up. Oh and most likely breaking my controller at the same time.
