Maybe it would say something like "GeNeRiCn00B69 wishes to play as your boss"? It would be kinda cool but it would be so much harder, you would have get a big reward for beating the player-boss. Thoughts?

Hmmmm, as far as Monster Bosses go, I don't think it'd work.

Old Monk was my favorite DeS boss, it was the only area I PvP'ed.

I honestly don't think that's a good idea. Transformations usually destroys a game.
Take Lineage II as an example. Every new thing they do now is related to transformations. Chameleon is good enough already.

Naaa if your going to play as a human boss just work to get the armor and stuff of said boss then PvP. If you play as the boss that will take away the fun of fighting the boss against its own special moveset. Speaking of pvp thats what needs to be improved. Easier to get a game and less back/lag stabbs. Make the base enemies harder too and add more of the same sneaky taps that gets everyone as they play the game for the first time.

I like the idea...but only in certain situations. Mainly, you don't play *as* the boss...but you can *become* the boss. In a few areas have an invasion take place, the player you're facing is a "mini boss". This would get extremely frustrating...and I could actually see it halting progress.
I'm on the fence. Personally, I like it...but it really might ruin the game for so many people. It will basically be the ending for the ones who literally can't PvP. Some just don't have the skills for it. They can be amazing at the game itself, but just can't get PvP down...which would kill the game.

In all seriousness in Demons' Souls the Old Monk was easy to beat offline. In Dark Souls most single bosses were easy to defeat offline with trial and error. Also, it could be a 3v1. I don't think another Old Monk fight would be a problem.

This is Dark Souls. You don't give them the option! The player should become the boss wether the host likes it or not just like Demons' Souls.
