Post by TheSleepiestRican Sun Feb 26, 2012 1:38 pm

So after last nights FC I want to change my char around (might have to re build it stat wise e.e). Anyways, what's the absolute minimum for poise to not get stunlocked by most weapons? Is there a range I can be in for smaller weapons?

Right now for what I'm trying to do I can get 58 poise with my desired build. What will that protect me from if anything at all?

    76 poise (51 for 1-handed resists):
    All Ultra Greatswords 2h R1s
    All Great Axes 2h R1s
    All Great Blunt 2h R1s

    53 poise (36 for 1-handed resists):
All Great Asian Swords 2h R1s (apparently I had this wrong in my first Poise test, and rated at 55, that was the 55 Poise for the metagame)
    All Great Swords 2h R1s
    All 1-handed Blunts 2h R1s
    All 1-handed Axes 2h R1s

    31 poise (21 for 1-handed resists):
All Asian Sword 2h R1s (and R2 in the case of Shotel)
    All 1-handed Sword 2h R1s
All Katana 2h R1s (including Washing Pole)
    All Great Scythe 2h R1/R2s
    All Whip 2h R1s
    All Large Spear (Partisan/Pike) 2h R1s
All Small Spear (Silver Spear/Winged Spear) 2h R1s
All Halberd/Pole 2h R1s (figured this would have been 53, but it wasn't).

8 poise (6 poise for 1-hand resists, or Fist Weapons):
    All Rapier 2h R1s
    All Dagger 2h R1s
All Fist Weapons R1s (although this is actually 6 since you can't 2-hand a Fist Weapon)

That should get you started. cheers

I saw some others in same gear at FC so I'll just say it.

    Havels boots/gloves + paladin armor=76 poise.

Up to you now to weight out cosmetics and function.

For me, this is what I'll wear whenever I pvp, I cannot stand losing a match to 1 hit enabling r1 spam, I will not reward them! Let's talk poise 3248139268

^ add wolf's ring and you will be pretty strong, but people preffer to add Havels and DWGR, so 76 poise with ninja flip its already good

That's what I was using Ragezzz without the DWGR and medium rolling around. I really think my medium roll was what got me killed most of the time since people either had DWGR or at least the fast roll. So I'm experimenting with builds and trying to avoid using the DWGR though it seems I might have to.

I had that exact build last night. All that with wolf's ring gave me 116 and allowed me to R1 spam against a couple of people and win with stunlock. Still that medium roll just wasn't cutting it.

Yeah for Dex builds its easier to get under 25% because of the weapons, but even with 40 stamina, wanderer clothes, balder sword and grass shield, I was doing the medium roll. Very very crazy, then I added the Havels ring and could use gloves and leggings of thorns and still do light roll.

I generally use (what i did last night) Elite knight chest, Havel gauntlets, black iron leggings. Gets you 66 poise, which i generally like to roll at, plus you dont look like a wanker happy

and you all know i was ninja flipping silly

I know the DWGR is broken but I try to make a ninja in any game like this so it fits my personal playstyle.

When I read the movement effect for the first time I was like wow, thats a crucial unlisted mod. lol

its so easy for dex builds to get 76 poise, those kats are so light, my machete alone weights 18.

Great information!! I knew about everything below 53 poise but the 76 poise stuff was new to me. I am adding this info to my database of DkS facts.
