Can someone explain what the patch is going to fix?

This is not a prank, it addresses the stat drain sword hack on PS3.

From takes more notice to the japanese side and since Japan is Sony's homeland, they probably won't give a ****. Unless this same hacks appear in the western side, i doubt the patch will come to us.

Xbox on the other hand, if there are hacks there, it should be Microsoft who should solve it. At least that's how i see it.

Nature of save editing is different on Xbox and therefore not easily addressed. The sword hack is code remnants that can be more easily targeted via a patch. It's also not a prank, that's not how From operates when it comes to quality control.

^ That's a good thing, it shows how much they really care about their product.
No developer is perfect but at least they're doing a better job than most.

Good point PS3 save is kinda copyrighted\locked, live wouldn't let from do that so the file is open. It's up to MS to sort it out, but there's more playing COD\Fifa etc so ms don't give a toss.

Said it before but this is what gets me, on pc if you start a game offline that save cannot be used when logged into GFWL,i magine xbox is the same. obviously thers's some flag to tell whether it was made online or offline. So if a save was copied and edited via usb key etc, surely there must be some way to tell whether the save was edited online or offline and not let it play while online.
