There's nothing more to add, all the info is already in my previous posts.

In chronological order:

• So, I just figured out what he meant by "optional boss".
  
• It doesn't involve crossing the lava. The progress route is the same, fight is different.
  
• Ok, from what I can tell it looks like the initial conditions are Chaos Servant +1 and a fully evolved Egg Head (You have to feed the egg 100,000 so it hatches), before you enter the fog.
  
• Stand silently by her last resting place.
  
• Quit/reload after 10+ minutes, you didn't 'qualify' if it respawns you outside the arena.
  
• If you respawn inside the arena, then go ahead and pick up the clothes, then walk back to the exit.
  
• It's similar to the glitch kill, but initiating the fight is done different.

In testing it now. About eight minutes into the wait

+10 mins???? How did you get that ublug LOL. This means there could be secrets involving standing still in front of corpses. Firekeeper corpse in Undead Parish Church?????

Spawned outside the gate. Trying again. I used the transient curses but thought that might not be quiet enough. I am close enough where "pillage corpse" is an option

I just remembered that I also said 'yes' while talking to Quelana, on both characters, so I probably had a +10 (or ascended +5) flame on them as well.

You could also try that if you can't make any further progress.

Yes, as a daughter of chaos (plus the other conditions) you won't have to 'steal' her clothes.

Trying again. I hadn't offered humanity to her this playthrough so did that and equipped my old witches ring and ascended flame.

You don't have to stand so close that you get the pickup prompt.

I think I have tried all combinations with the egg and covenant level, +1 and hatched egg was what triggered it. But it could be more, you might have to be accepted as quelana's pupil as well.

Ok....nada again. One last time tonight. Ascended flame +5 in right hand, flame +15 in left, attuned chaos spells only, wearing the gold hemmed set (minus helmet), covenant 2, over 200k souls to my egghead tonight alone. Not sure if I spoke to quelana all the way this playthrough

If this doesn't work I'll chat with quelana and stand somewhere else. Where were you standing?

Just in front of her grave. You'll respawn by the wall which looks more black and white than the rest, so around there I guess. My character was facing the grave, but I had the camera mostly turned towards ceaseless.

Did you actually use the transient curses?

Just to measure time, after I figured out it took 10 minutes.

I'm a bit puzzled about it not triggering, can't think of anything else needed. The first character didn't have the old witch's ring either. Pendant perhaps, lol.

I'll try with another character tomorrow if you still can't do it.

Lol. I have that. Maybe you're not supposed to resemble Quelaag here. Will try again tomorrow with different ring. I had already learned all the quelana spells but chaos firestorm. I haven't saved laurentius yet but not sure he'd really be a part of it. Gonna get some sleep, probably dream of fire now 8')

Just tried it on another character, didn't even ring the last bell on this one. I saw Quelana in the swamp when I went past, but I didn't talk to her. Eingyi also gave me a new flame with only 11 int, even though I had a +10 flame equipped, so I need to look into that as well.
I have just worn random rings on all the characters, so I don't think those matters. I also made sure I didn't do anything special, like gestures or the worm attack, inside the arena.
First try spawned outside, second try was successful, but I also stood closer to the respawn point. I also timed the second one from the moment I entered the fog, ran up to the spawn point, and after 11+ minutes I reloaded. I think I have done these offline as well (doesn't look like the reload trick works online).

This is exactly where and how you should respawn, facing the grave.


Other stats were: 12att, 12res, 11int, 8fth, previous character had 18fth, and the first character had 11res, and below 10 in both int and fth. So I don't believe that stats plays a part.

I'll give it another whirl. Standing where you're showing. I was pretty close to there but who knows. As far as story elements go, did you save laurentius and fight kirk the first time. I haven't done either I believe

I don't think I've even been to the depths with one of the characters.

I haven't picked up her clothes yet, trying different approaches on- and off-line. Couldn't respawn inside the arena after I went offline, so I homeward boned to the bonfire. Trying again offline now.

There are no telltale signs, so the reload trick is the only way to make sure. I haven't tried to take the clothes without reloading, so I'll also try that later.

I'm guessing I know what it does, but I still wanna see it. If nothing else, this game is about persistence
