more of a pop culture thing than an actual geek thing. those were all very main stream by nerd standards. and the creators ignorance is demonstrated in the test.
goku's power at the time was just over 8000. the "over 9000" thing is a mistake in translation, and wether thats the eleventh doctor or the 12'th is somewhat debatable, because of the regen thing with his amputated hand. (it is the eleventh actor, but that was not the question.)

But in (presumably) knowing his entire history (including what he hasn't done yet) because of that thing in said finale (trying to stay spoiler free) he can (presumably) change it even though he knows its coming because all he has to do is something, anything, no matter how insignificant, differently to alter that future. not only does he know what, but also how and why and when, so it should be easy to have a big impact on the future because you know exactly what not to do to avoid a specific series of events, yes?

Yeah thats true, but as they've said before there's certain things that are fixed points in history that cannot be changed. They dealt with that in the extended specials that David tennant did (the mars one was the episode specifically) and I think that he wouldn't change the event I presume you're talking about, simply because it's a fixed point.
