Buffs are set numbers, just hold the mouse over the buff and have the catalyst/talisman on

So AR is just all of the damage from a weapon combined? For instance, a weapon that did 200 fire damage and 200 physical damage would have 400 AR?

    Mmkay. Let's do this!

I feel like a monster. My Mura has 897 AR. My Ricard's Rapier has 676! No wonder most things die if I BS them with a Hornet's Ring. Speaking of which, does anyone know exactly what the Hornet's Ring BS damage bonus is?

40% of whatever the damage was without it, I believe.

If you backstab would do 500 damage, it now does 750.

This build has been my forest fighter recently
It's really funny to give gankers so little in the way of souls, after giving them such a fight to get those souls from you! The build is actually quite... capable, of a fighter.

I actually get hatemail about how I should drop some souls if I'm going to do that type of BS.
I use poisoned throwing knives, poison arrows, fire arrows, and sometimes charcoal pine resin. It's rather fun to do.

See, unlike Kiln Gankers, Forest Gankers want to reach as high of a level as possible, along with their buddies of course... very low level chars that drop like 400 souls don't help with that goal though.

I know there is a bug that let's you "enchant" a bow with a resin, can this even be done with an elemental bow? I'd love to make my chaos bow even stronger....

I think the MiT should start using low level builds. You should suggest it to them Rynn.

    Ah, right.
I did a quick level test, and here is what I'd do if I brought it to level 120.

The shotel is almost exclusively for after the Red Tearstone Goes off.... I could get some insane damage through an opponents shield with that weapon after all. I'll just cast Power Within once my HP is low and wait till it shoots off.
I decided after some field tests that, as the heavy crossbow does -far- more damage per shot, it's more condusive to gameplay.

It's relative. A single bolt does about 1.75 time the damage of a single bolt from the Avalyn, so if you can hit with all 3 bolts, the Avalyn is more damaging.
When the RTSR activates, that changes. Now a single heavy bolt is 2.75 times the damage of an Avalyn bolt under the same conditions. Either way it's viably better "per hit" damage, with a faster reload time, so it's less punishable, but less reward for hitting.

No problem... it's also lighter with less requirements to weild... I wonder how people would react to my massively gouged HP... this unintentional MiT's style build is pretty awesome.

Yes - u can. The cat cov ring allows u to be summoned from anywhere.
So u should be good. I did determine being summoned from different places
results in slightly diff orientation on the 3 diff spawn points in the forest.
That is why I invade from the same location in my world so I don't have compensate
for the orientation variations (i.e. facing direction).

Good info people - keep the tips coming.

No, you can't. If you are in Andre's building/Firelink, you will not be summoned.

Now that is an interesting fact - I thought had tested firelink - I did not test
Andre's location. Thanks for the nuggets of knowledge Shkar
