Diablo 3

Is anyone getting this - if so what do you plan on playing ?

Damn! it appears I am the only one here who played the beta and chose to preorder the game... :/

Point and click combat RPGs are not my type. Played the hell out of Diablo I and Diablo II back when they were released, but in my opinion Blizzard follows TOO closely the "don't fix what's not broken" phrase. Saw some gameplay videos, and the nostalgia feeling isn't that strong with me.
I prefer characters with open customization.

I'm not one for actually doing the fighting so like I did in Diablo 2 I'll be which ever class is the summoner one.

AKA- Witch Doctor with Primary emphasis on summoning and crowd control curses.

Its that or the ...... oh wait theres nothing else worth playing as.

I played Scared and Sacred 2 and really like those but they;re so big that I dont need another game like them. It does look good though.

I'm still playing Diablo 2, for 12 years by now.

I played the beta too, but pre-ordered it since the first second the order was available.
Though pretty much every single news about Diablo 3 made me just :///// for hours, I still never fought for a second of cancelling my pre-order.
Then I played the beta and realized one thing.
Simply don't compare D3 to D2... and you are playing the pretty much best (modern) game. It's simply infinite fun.

I plan on playing the Wizard first. From all characters in the beta he appeared to be the weakest to me, like every pure sorcerer commonly is at the opening of a game.
So I expect him to kick *** endlessly later on. Then the Witch Doctor (fire bats man, I shat my robe thrice), then the Demon Hunter, then the Monk, then the Barbarian.

Also Torchlight 2 is coming. This will be the hell of a fight in my heart...
After all, Torchlight 2 is way more a game based on Diablo 2 than Diablo 3 is. Yet the quality of neither one can be grasped fully at the moment.
I am waiting.

I saw some gameplay videos. Is it me or this is the first time you actually see NPCs fighting along with you?

In Torchlight 1 occasionally you meet a guy who fights a small horde of enemies (with you), then gives/ends a quest and then disappears. So it's not absolutely the first time .
However, in Torchlight 2 coop will be all over the place, so get ready for more than just NPCs fighting by your side. Waiting is so painfffffffffffulllllllllllll

Ah, and yes, the music.

Runic Games even simply presents you with the OST, the game folder contains a music folder containing regular ogg-files. How much better a company can become?
Yesyes From, Retro, etc. But the guys who created Diablo (1+2) are simply something else.

I preordered it this week as a mate of mine is getting it. I have no idea what it's about or what the classes are, but it's a blizzard game so I'm sure it will be win

I meant, in the Diablo franchise. I remember that particular bit, too.

The idea of the dog as a loot carrier/seller was surprisingly simple yet useful. Makes you think if there is even a point nowadays for loot.

I'm all over it. Just bought a new comp for it. Having trouble with the dual hard drives though. Any good tech guys here? Primary is an SSD, secondary HDD. Second drive not recognized in the BIOS. Got Win7 up and running with all the drivers but second harddrive not being recognized by neither windows nor BIOS. So I wiped it and tried again playing with settings. Then no drives were recognized. Finally got the SDD back but now windows won't install on it.

It's driving me crazy and really cutting in to my dark souls time. Any help is welcomed. I got the SSD, HDD and DVD ROM all on SATA cables. Im going to play around with the wires later today but those things felt impossible to disconnect. It was ridiculous.

It's WASD now? Colour me interested.

So turns out hdd was dead. Replaced it and now I'm 100% ready to roll on d3.

I don't like those type of RPGs. I prefer standard than automatic.

ouch acidic. OUCH.

but i havent played to beta so I don't know what to say about the automatic stat leveling. I really didn't like it when I read about it. And still don't. But everything else i've read about it has really buried that issue for the time being. i'll have to wait till i've gotten really into it before I can comment on it with any kind of fake righteousness.

ummmm, when are you guys getting your copies? I thought I was getting it today at midnight. That's not happening. It's being delivered (shudders). Many they better have their act together.
