Rough Night

Oh man, tonight is really rough. Haven't won a fight yet. Probably 20 losses in a row. I'm getting really frustrated. I just walk off the stairs in the Burg if someone is lagging. I'll get hit across the arena. I'll get front stabbed. I'll hit someone and they won't take any damage. Aaaaaargh!!

Anyone go through this?

i go throught A LOT in the burg, i cant believe the burg is laggier than the btown pit.

Reim are you hosting? I've noticed that when I am hosting I encounter more laggy players than when invading.

Even the greats go through it...

I'm hosting and Gravelording . . . so hosting either way. Strange how a host can have more lag. My internet connection is great. I just did a speed test and got 23 download and 3 upload.

Yeah it must be. As invader I rarely get laggy hosts. Maybe I'm lagging as hell for them lol.

i really dont think it matters how good youre internet is, its just the way the whole pvp stuff is set up that sucks an there's lag everywhere, sometimes not as bad and sometimes its really bad.

I did see a mention of a psn maintenance today (Thursday). Not sure of that had anything to do with it. Just figured I would throw that out there.

reim i was in burg last night too and yes it was insane how many people had horrible connections. i never do this but i actually just started exiting out the second i noticed and major lag. i always give people at least 1-2 fights(cause i know some just cant control their internet) but when they lag to a point and do nothing but try and bs you with a rapier ima just quit out and fight someone with a real internet connection lol. i would like if the next game had some sort of mechanic that paired players by their connection speed.

Reim, had trouble invading in the forest last night and got the "unstable connection" problem twice. It led to a great story I'll post later in the glory for Alvina thread but internet was crazy all night. Tried to host too and didn't get one fight that way. My ps3 scroll said something about maintenance. Wonder if that was last night

I was in the upper burg most of the night at lvl 9 and had no problems with connection at all. Everyone invading me, killed me without any lag. I wonder if your problem may have been due to high volume traffic at whatever soul level you were playing at??

I went threw that as a Gravelord in the old forum. Ya, it changed a little for me. Now I get it from every fourth Darkwraith instead of a non-lagged in every third. Still, Anor Londo is terrible for 60-120... Even higher it is pretty bad with lag.

Fruit - I was doing the same thing. Start every fight, but if there was lag, I walked off the stairs. I figured I have better things to do than fight both an opponent and lag.

you and acidic mentioned you were gravelording. i also have noticed this while gravelording in the burg and other spots.
normally when you are human i beleive there is only 1 invader slot. when you activate your EOD, you open up three slots (need confirmation). im pretty sure ive had three invaders chasing me around. lol.
that four ps3's trying to communicate! much more laggy. think fight club with host, two summons and a vader. usually choppy.
if you notice again stop gravelording to test maybe.

mo - that's a good idea. Didn't think of that. That trouble carried over to the LH FC, in Painted world. It wasn't until a bit later in the evening that it leveled out, and I actually started winning.
