Astora's Straight Sword

So I picked up this weapon in the VoD for my new Cleric build and it is absolutely destroying things early in the game. It honestly is comparable to the Drake Sword as far as early game OPness goes.

Had never given this weapon a shot before, I wonder why it's not more widely used for beginning players?

Many don’t know about it, and you need faith to use it. It also needs to be upgraded.

Before bb was made known to me the astora strait sword and shield were part of my suicide runs along with the crimson set and any cobsumable souls along the way. The weapon is great, especially for faith builds!

i love astora's ss, its really good for the begining of the game but you can get the clay and make it fire as soon as you get to the depths which makes astora's useless.

I use it on many builds, best way to get through Catacombs early.

It's great at first, but even fully upgraded and with 40's in all the scaling stats it only does around 350 damage if i remember correctly. Like the Drake Sword, it's only useful to help you through the early game.
