Moonlight Horn v. Titanite Catch Pole v. Channeler's Trident

Have any of you used any of these in pvp? For an int build, I'm strongly considering using the moonlight horn as an occassional off-hand weapon for pokes to annoy and harrass shield users and people with short-ranged weapons (the horn would be in my second off-hand slot, while the first slot would be for a catalyst). I've also considered poking with the channeler's trident or the titanite catch pole, each of which would require that I invest 4-6 points in dex and waste a lot of time acquiring these elusive weapons. Thoughts? Do either the trident or the pole have the annoying polearm miss animations (I suspect the pole does, but want to confirm)? Are both of their off-hand R1s blocks (worthless, basically)?

Why put them in your off hand? For my int builds I like to put my magic in my off hand and weapon in my right. Allows me to switch to two handed at a moments notice as well.

Alright, so we're split between the trident and the horn. But 6 points of dex...hmmm. I'm not sure whether this will be a dex/int build at this point, so I've got to think about that.
@aceluby
I'd like to hold my moonlight GS in my right hand, and switch between the horn and a catalyst in my left hand depending upon what my enemy is doing. Most of the time, I anticipate using my catalyst instead of the horn. I'll also have a +5 lightning claymore in my backpack and will switch out the moonlight for the claymore if someone uses GMB.
@JY4answer
That's the point!
@Meridam
Unfortunately, it would be off-hand (I like the option of double-handing my moonlight GS and occassionally using R2), so the dance won't happen.

dance doesn't buff you any way just your allies, summoned phantoms love it when you dance before s&o!

The buff is almost beside the point. The dance is awesome all by itself, and probably the best post-victory taunt in the game.

Woah, 95% is huge. I had no idea. I plan on pvp'ing at 120 with this toon, so I won't have any allies, but I'll have to keep this in mind for coop toons.

PW is 40%, red tearstone is 50%, not sure about the dragon roar, but if you can get all that together you'd probably 1shot a boss with a dagger

at least thats the percentage i've heard, will some one confirm?, once i fought s&O with the buff... one phantoms great sword tore through a 6th of smoughs health a hit! then the buff wore off... so maybe maybe not but the amount is high

Moonlight Horn off hand is how I go. It is effective. Being BS is a concern, but as long as you know the poise of your opponent (i.e. poise backstabs), and don't stand still after a poke, it shouldn't be a problem.

I've been using the horn all game and just picked up the trident today, so with a little work tomorrow I should be able to compare them. Out of the box though the trident is a little better for damage, although it's split between physical and magic, and it comes with epic dancing... probably a bit of a judgment call either way. Personally I like the bonus humiliation of "you just got stabbed with butterfly parts," but w/e.

Good advice, guys. Does anyone know how the range and speed of the horn and the trident compare? I don't have a trident right now, so I can't compare.

range on the butterfly horn is markedly better. The butterfly is comparable in length to a silver knight spear, where the trident is closer to a partisan. Speed seems about the same.

Thanks. That pretty much settles it in favor of the horn. I'd like to be able to poke from a good distance while mainhanding a short range powerhouse.
