Lol......this might be the ultimate thread Serious.
Regarding violence at such a young age since there seems to be some division on the topic. However, feel free to disagree with me still. A couple reasons my daughter has seen Mortal Kombat:
First, at 2.5 years old she's already got a firm grasp on real vs. pretend and everything on a screen she's got down as the latter.
Second, unless something is intensely interesting to her, she is not likely to grasp the general concept, instead focusing on a segment (typical of this age). My step duaghter was watching some show last night that had a baby in it. My daughter had no clue anything existed except the baby. With Mortal Kombat (only saw one round) she just loved that "the guy" turned green and threw green things. The perception was not of conflict or violence for her. More like fireworks.
With all that being said though, it's probably not something I'd advocate become a habit since that could lead to further interest and her wanting to pretend to be like "the guys." Also, as she grows and is better able to grasp concepts globally (thus seeing it as a fight) I will likely not readily play a game like that around her. Similarly, when she was an infant and having trouble sleeping she LOVED Aqua Teen Hunger Force and South Park. Now that she can repeat new words after hearing them only once we've found better substitutes for those shows (Dora and Curious George which make ME swear more than her)
Serious I think you asked about the new season of Robot Show. So far so awesome. I think it's following the Simpsons progression of starting off great, but getting better over time. Eventually there will be a decline but this has been a good season for sure. There's an episode that captures current American politics a little too well. So it's hilarious.
