Seath's tail

I am trying to cut his tail off, but only have 2 weapons with which to do it. An Enchanted Falchion +4, and a lighting spear +4. They both seem to be doing way to little damage, so I'm wondering if he is resistant to magic and lightning. Also, would nailing his tail with a couple crystal souls spears do enough damage?

He should be weakest to fire, but lightning is a burden to him as well! His highest resistance is magic. Are you letting him break the crystal to you can get behind him?

Get a friend to co-op with you, under the orders not to kill him. Get them to aggro him then sit behind him and beat his tail. When you aggro him have your friend attack the tail. He's super resistant to magic, but shouldnt be to lightning. I once cut off his tail using great lightning spears while co-oping though.

Hmm ok, I guess I'll just have to make a lighting or fire claymore. The spear isn't that much help.

I tryed to cut his tail off with a +5 lightning zwei, i killed him by only hitting the tail and that thing didnt fell off

Stand by the crystal, but don't break it. He will go over to you and try to attack. When he starts his attack start running behind him. He will break the crystal with his attack and stun himself, giving you time to get a few hits in. You should have enough time to hit his tail a few times with CSS.

I got the tail finally. I let him destroy the crystal, then ran behind him with my lighting spear. I decided to give it another try. Turns out, that I was hitting the middle not the tip. The wiki says you don't have to hit the tip, but after coming within an inch of killing him, I figured something was up since the tail hadn't dropped yet. So I killed myself and tried again.
