why would you kill the taurus demon... if no one invades you then you'll invade a host, it's win win. if you have taurus dead and you don't invade anyone.. that's it.

If Taurus is alive, it is really really annoying trying to invade or drop soapstones. If you get invaded and it fails (fog gates come, but no invasions happen), then your signs/invasion orb not only go away, but can't be used for a minute or so. That is extremely annoying when you aren't trying to host.

With red eye orb I almost constantly invade. But with hosting I have to wait a few minutes before someone invades. Also I use SLB which i only have one of which makes hosting hard.

if you only wanna host keep taurus alive otherwise just kill him since youre gonna get invaded constantly or get a lot of fails and that neverending white fog which is annoying as hell.

hosting is fun tho. i was just doing it now and yesterday.

i had a guy attack my summon when he rotten pine resined after a bow, let it go. the phantom divine blessinged and i just estus flasked the bejesus out of the summon and gang banged the phantom.

and if your phantom does something extremely whack you can just black crystal him out of there.

it's like you're a referee, and it's something different.

plus when you host for 1v1's you never have to worry about jumping into a game with 3 idiots spamming wotg at you.

you must be luck rifte, every time i try to host i get ganked or get backstab trying to summon someone else lol.

do you do it but naked? they usually get the idea when they see a naked dude running around or spamming the crusty fingers lol.

set it up with someone on your friends list tho, as a white/gold phantom. it's easier that way.

i used to do that in the forest all the time.. but it was better there because of the fact you could have 2v2's.


edit: a rule of thumb i usually go by tho, once the summon is dead that invader gets the option to take on the host. if they start staring at me standing there i hop into my gear and get ready for a battle. if they're just running around aimlessly or stand in the host goalies net then i look for summons or spam the dried finger.

theres so much traffic in the burg its so hard to set up fights with your friends though. and no im always ready to fight but most of the guys cannaot wait 5 secs for a summon and i get bsd out of nowhere so i have to chain bs their ***, i got tired of it so i just kill taurus ad dont host there anymore.

huh.. weird. i dunno maybe i'm lucky, but id say 80-90 percent of the people who invade me are decent.

then again the only thing i care about is healing, a bow at the start and no dragonhead glitching. i treat everyone as if theyll chainstab me so i roll out accordingly..

i just match my armor nowadays to my opponents as well so that probably helps with the "oh hes a giant/mask biatch" people. (shhhh dont let them know, the stam regen is a huge penalty in and of itself, i'm probably doing myself a favor lol!)

Gankers are starting to appear in the Burg. I've been ganked three times (by different gankers) in the past hour or so. Maybe I'm just unlucky though.

heres what i do... as soon as i get the YAY WE'RE INVADING message i pull out my pyromancer flame and set it to chaos storm. tempest is fine too.

the second i pop in if the zombies are dead in the room down the hall or arent on the roofs i know somethings wrong.. that or 2 guys standing behind me.

from there if theyre standing behind you either pivot ->gc spam the bejesus out of them or roll directly into them. if you have thorns on itll make this easyer.

from there either roll back to the fog gate or roll into the corner of the lookout and start casting your chaos storm. gankers are noobs theyll probably be r1ing claymores or something or fall of the freaking edge chasing u to the fog gate (true story).

if you manage to blast them with any kind of aoe spell then immediatley swap to you're prefered abusable spell of choice, wotg, gcf or gc. i prefer gcf cause i can aim it pretty well. just spam the bejesus out of them and then get ready to do a run- pivot backstab or a roll stab thru their wotgs/claymore swings.

seriously gankers are terrible players 95% of the time. just adjust your strats.



if theyre down below just shoot arrows at them then chaos storm them off the edge as they run up. its hilarious.

I guess they would be alot easier to deal with if I used spells. I never make caster builds, or even use pyromancies. lol

if you've ran to the bridge to that zombie room then you've already lost and are panicing unless you have the mlgs, soul spear, soulmass or dragons breath.

we dueled twice, i lost and complained that i timed my arrow wrong and didnt wait out your buff than fought u again and won after i waited it out.

Yup that's me! Was actually using the good old reliable claymore. Yeah that phantom had me confused, I don't think he had an upgraded weapon. lol

yeah idk what he was doing... i think he was using rotten pine resin on a big weapon. i fought and killed him as a phantom when he was a hosts summon, and then killed the host. i saw his soapstone on the ground again so i thought hey why not.

Ok I still haven't decided to kill him yet. I'm going to make a poll whichever one gets the most ones ill do.

If you leave the demon alive you can manage to do both, though perhaps you cannot invade optimally, you can invade and he HAS to be alive in order to host optimally so it's kinda like a win win not killing it.

What level is burg pvp play viable at? All, correct?

I saw the most when I was starting a ng, and after ng+ but I'm guessing cuz that was a fun time to mess around there and I hadn't killed the taurus yet. Maybe I won't kill him on my next ng+.

A dude decided to let 2 people invade him, and also summoned me from my soapstone on top of that. Apparently he thinks its fun to open and close the door while spamming fire tempest. He was actually really good at his little gimick, hardly got hit, managed to kill the other guys, but then I got him
