Reunited with an Old Friend....

So today I was cleaning out the Attic in my house when I stumbled across a box labeled, "My Stuff, 2000" in my handwriting.

I opened her up to discover a few drawings, some old trophies, and....my Nintendo 64....

The box had been left open and as a result it was completely covered in dust, I pulled it out and dusted it off to to reminisce for a few minutes, until I thought...."I wonder if she still works...?"

Took her downstairs, dusted her off, pulled out a box of old games and plugged her into the TV, and after almost 12 years of sitting, gathering dust, she started up without a single hiccup.

Long story short, I spend half of the day playing N64 games, Banjo Kazooie, Majoras Mask, Mario Kart 64...I had a small nostalgiagasm....

It was then I decided that she's going to have a permanent spot in my living room.

I know this post seems corny, but with crap going so wrong lately I've been becoming more and more depressed, and even though I love Modern video games, they just weren't bringing me that special feeling I had when I was a kid....this on the other hand really made me feel a whole lot better....

I used to have over 50 N64 games, but I sold most of my library off years go, however, I kept on a few gems.

1. Super Mario 64
2. LoZ Ocarina of Time
3. LoZ Majoras Mask (my favorite game of all time)
4. Banjo Kazooie
5. Banjo Tooie
6. Mario Kart
7. Donkey Kong 64
8. Mother *** GOLDENEYE!

This weekend I may go to my local gamestore and see if I can scrounge up any other titles....any suggestions?

My N64 is also still in working condition. Resilient machines, are they.

I was actually kinda blown away when it started right up, seriously, it had at least an inch and a half of dust on it and it hasn't been turned on since late 2000.

If that were my 360 the thing would have spontaneously combusted.

I loved Paper Mario, the second one is just amazing, but the first one is a great game, if you like that RPG style enough to try it.

My first console was the PS2, so i don´t think that´ll ever happen to me

I loved Paper Mario on the gamecube, I never had it for N46 though...I'll look for it, I remember having Mario RPG Secret of the 7 Stars.

There's one game in particular I loved as a kid and I'm almost sure I loaned it to a kid and never got it back, it was called Mystical Ninja, and it was amazing...that's probably priority #1 for now.

To give you an idea...there's a *** giant robot fight with it's own THEME SONG in the middle of the game

The AK47's of gaming is a fitting description for the N64, the Nokia 3310 has absolutely nothing on it!

I never got into gaming until about 5 years ago, and at the start I had a PS2. I set it up the other day and started playing some timsplitters 2, damn this game has aged well.
