When will video games take that next leap as an artistic medium?

I think it's already at that time.

I agree pendant, people didn't see Shakespeare as art until decades after his death. While he was alive he was basically just considered good entertainment. I think history will judge lots of today's games as art.

I feel like I should come with a warning for whenever I meet somebody.

Hahaha, I thought about it, Skare. There is a lot it could actually say... I'm a hazard though. People are prone to get cavities.

Why must art come into it? They're for enjoyment, trying to make something into an art always comes with a whole lode of completely ridiculous "rules" for wether or not something is art, and anything that fails to follow them is judged as inferior. I'd prefer such nonsense be kept out of my most time consuming hobby, talk of art always sucks the fun right out of things.

History will judge art, I'm just predicting what people will think. I totally agree though, discussions about art are not for current pieces of entertainment.

Bought a new headset today, and i preordered the PC version of DkS. I feel kinda silly when i pre-order a game the day before it's released.

What about Celine Dion? She'd be my biggest concern. The Kroger/Lavigne thing is balanced out since you also brought the world Alex Trebek and Hockey.

Although Justin Bieber is pretty much a monstrosity. I imagine he's similar to Captain Planet. Except instead of Wheeler and the rest of the Planeteers with their rings he's summoned by The New Kids on the Block with magic microphones and they all have the powers of "choreography," "electronically assisted voice modulation," "studio backing," "pseudo-harmony" and um......"heart." They are without the fun elements like wind and fire. None of them have the powers of "melody" or "artistic vision."
