Usergroups

Will there ever be any usergroups other than moderators and administrators? I thought it would be cool to organize a group of some kind.

Organizing players based off of their covenants followings (Different colors for different covenants) would be cool imo

Had the same idea, would certainly be an interesting feature and fairly useful in convent wars also I imagine.

I would make two groups: one of your main covenant, the other of your alignment here on our wiki wars

I can make them but groups must be manually managed by the administrators so it would take quite a lot of our time to sort you all out. There isn't any group functionality as far as I'm aware besides having a cohesive color and making giving permissions to post/edit easier.

I'm also a bit concerned that having everyone posting in color codes will make the site look like a rainbow.

hahaha! i understand. I wasnt thinking colors, but perhaps permission to edit certain posts for factions. Eventually the forums will be packed with post. why not organize it even more with specifics? Such as if you have a leader or organizer that proves themselves they have more access to that specific covenant. etc. War council for the wars.

If there is any information. choices that can be decided in your spare time with the other moderators we would love to have some event planners "covenant warlords/leaders etc." to organize the wars. and these can be handpicked by you guys as well. I just feel that if we have a set team, we will have more dedicated and organized events. something to consider. I truly appreciate your time, thank you!

thats a great idea we could have more event like the WOW and GL war coming up

^Well since the adminstrators have to make them anyways then why not let them pick? I dont want ppl to think i took advantage of something while i could. i dont mind votes but a more well thought process for them is probably best so people can agree with it. Im good with anythign tho!

Yah the people who run this place should decide group leaders. I dont think voting for it would be a good idea.

i don't think giving selected persons more rights and permissions then others will turn out that good...
for me i don't want to have any "Leaders" or Groupmanagers, because the game is a public game and so is the wiki. anyone who wants to have Guilds can create their own homepage and shouldnt use the wiki. a Wiki is no place for Groups or Leaders imho.

BUT... i think having the option to show what covenant everyone is in is a good idea. would be easy to code another textarea (right below the "Reputation" for example) where everyone can enter/select his Covenant...

^ I understand the rights part (actually I changed what I meant by the 2nd time haha) I mean making usergroups for dedicated organizers of th events. Dark and I have put a lot of work into this event and it requires a lot of organizing keeping track, etc. So maybe just a titled group that get togetherand announce war events and organize them.

I mean they should be the leaders because they came up with the War ideias and they started recruiting people

yea these new form added a little confusion to the war event which is today
it would be good to have event organizers

What if the "moderator chosen" leader of the covenant was also made a moderator to help with the monitoring of his covenants posts?

This is very interesting.

In my opinion, people shouldn't oppose covenant leaders as such leaders will not get glory or privilege but instead extra work. Same as the wiki organizers, people love the wiki not the individuals so all we have is a giant to-do list and responsibility.

As such, the positions should, IMO, be voluntary and self-driven. The people who originally came up with the ideas, if willing to see them through, would have already demonstrated the initiative and charisma to "make it happen."

Currently, the Admins are busy selecting moderators, so please continue thinking and talking about this and when we move to the forum group organization we can make a call based on your discussions.

Well, i do plan on continuing organizing these wars. I hope to be able to make it a well rounded event for nearly every forum player being high participants. Im on here on my phone when i can, and always at home. Id be glad to volunteer for some organization responsibilities. Thank you for taking a look at this fex!

This could be interesting... But it could also be a bad idea. Judging by the abundance of "Why do people hate Darkmoons" threads and the subliminal Sunbros vs Darkwraiths (which I think cooled down by now), it seems covenant alignment is a more touchy subject that would be expected. I just think that coloring people along covenants would have the side-effect of "coloring" their opinions (people will misinterpret them just because they're in a certain covenant).

I'd hate for people to interpret the things I say differently just because I belong to one covenant or other. I consider myself very open-minded and avoid being biased as much as possible, but I can openly admit that I'd have a hard time not judging something someone said differently because they're "a darkmoon" or "a sunbro".

What I'd want for groups would be a way to more easily organize events. For instance (this is one I really hope will lift off the gound!) there could be a "Fight Club" group, and the leader (Rant's initiative) could easily send out messages to all its members.

Just want to say that the forums are great, by the way! Don't want to sound like an ass-kisser, but thanks Fex, Baal, and Emergence (and anyone else I don't know about!) who made it happen and continue to run the place--it's very much appreciated!
