New creature? O_o

I ve found this thing:

In the Blighttown just before the entrance where we can kill the monster who protect the Pyromancy: Power Within.
I was taking all the spells for finishing my first run with my first character. And found this monster. The screen is not very good but it seems like an Egg with claws. He attack with range light missiles.

After killing him, he drop an humanity.
That's the first time I see this monster after lot of run on console version and PC version.

I ve noted than with my second character, when I ve pass through the Blighttown, the monster wasn't here. Make me think that he appears after a certain event.

I don't know if it's really important but maybe he's important in some way. But not sure 'cause he's very weak.

It's a vagrant/drift item. If someone leaves an item or bloodstain out and dies it'll 'drift' into someone else's game.

Don't be. They're extremely rare, I've only seen 2 after 500+ hours of playing.

I've seen one in over 1000 hours of playtime, you're extremely lucky.

I saw one once in the Duke's Archives. I got so excited I died chasing after it... :oops:

Ok, so... I don't really understand. Those creature appears when someone drop an item. But, technically, this is are useless, isn't it? It's just a sort of easter eggs.

Well it depends. Sometimes it'll be something good, or a variable F*CK-ton of souls. Other times it'll attack you or lead you to your death
