Humanity farming
I've been told there is a rewarding way of farming humanity after beating the 4 kings which I have done. Apart from hunting rats in the depths is there somewhere near the Ruins to farm some H?

Ah. Womp Womp. You were supposed to go to the 4 kings before placing it. So you could become evil and steal humanity.

Re: Humanity farming
The baby skeletons just before the Nito boss fight can be an easy way to farm humanity, although theres a glitch that causes the humanity to fall through the floor sometimes if you aren't quick enough to pick it up.
If you're a faith build, I recommend you stick to the Depths and use WoG to kill the groups of rats (Only time I'd ever advise anyone to use WoG, EVER).
About the Dark Hand, you can always farm one off of the Darkwraiths.

Yeah, though it wouldn't really help lest you got a way to invade.

Re: Humanity farming
I like to farm my humanity from the purple octo heads in dukes. I use a bow or magic and just snipe them through the doorway. with 210 item discovery they drop at a decent rate.

Re: Humanity farming
You could always get summoned to help with a boss and ask for some. Easiest way I know of. Lots of people have mules with 198 humanities and 99 twin humanities, so it's no skin off their backs to donate some.

Re: Humanity farming
There are 4 ways to farm humanity:
1) Rats from Depths. Due to the number of Rats and the accessibility of the area, this is the most common method.
2) Pisacas in Duke's Archives. They have a higher drop rate, but they are also tougher, later in the game, less accessible and more annoying to get to and out from (since the bonfire cannot be warped from or to).
3) Skeleton Babies in Tomb of the Giants. They are a hassle to deal with and a huge annoyance to grab the humanity before they disappear. Recommended only for marathon farming (and even then I personally advise against it)
4) Dark Hand. As of the most recent patch, you can farm them off Darkwraiths; they are a bit generous with them. With this, you can obtain up to 84 humanity per playthrough (coincidentally, enough to fully rank the Darkwraith covenant)
This page presents you with your targets, but it also presents some other way to farm humanity while on the fly

Re: Humanity farming
I'll rejoin the sunbros after I get past level 2 in the chaos cov to get the secret passage open and then I'll go back to getting summoned. I enjoy the boss killing and if I get some extra humanity along the way then that's a bonus. How on earth do people end up with that many humanity and twin humanity?
Haven't got to the Duke's Archives on this run yet but I do remember it is a good place to farm, easy with a few fireballs.

Re: Humanity farming
Mules. Just that. I will say don't be afraid to ask for atleast a couple solid humanities from your hosts, some of them will be more than happy to drop you 2-3 or more if they can spare it.

Re: Humanity farming
I farm the skellies in the Tomb. They're not hard to deal with depending on your weapon and you just have to be quick and grab the humanity before it disappears, which happens because once the skelly in question respawns, the item is reset. It doesn't take a really long time to get 99 humanity, it's feasible in under an hour and a half with 410 item discovery.

If I have a divine weapon the skelly shouldn't respawn should it?

Re: Humanity farming
baby skellies are an anomoly, the spawn indefinitely which is why they are great for humanity. You don't need to go back and forth to the bonfire. But they are not as easily accessible, since they are a ways from a bonfire.
Lure a group up on to dry land and have at them. Just press the pick up button after each swing of your weapon and you can capture them. I rarely lose one now.

Re: Humanity farming
There is also a cool spot for low level players, in Undead parish. From the first bonfire to the 3 rats just down the ladder. Easy, no need for purple moss, quite fast. But after you place the lordvessel, Dukes or Tomb of the giants if you're feeling confident would be a better choice.

Re: Humanity farming
Don't lure them up, it takes longer and they're harder to hit. Just use a weapon with a wide arc and kill them constantly as they respawn. Move to the spot of the last one you killed, if it tells you to press X, press X. Use the CSS, CGS, or Evil Eye rings. Evil eye will let you replenish the HP you lose from them and farm for a good long while.

This wiki is full of people with good ideas! I used quelag's fury sword which has a lovely broad swing which catches 4 or 5 at a time. Using the evil eye really helped as they can bite hard. I had 99 humanity in no time while I had my sign down for coop, got summoned twice too. A success story all round.
