Question: Upgrading the Zweihander +6 and more

Hi there,

I am playing a Character with the Zweihander. Might not be the best weapon in the game, but for me and my preference in usage and style it's perfect. Several days ago I encountered a problem though:
I upgraded it to Zweihander +5 some time ago, of course wanting to continue to upgrade it. As far as every information I found I only need 800 souls and a lage titanic shard to continue upgrading. I own like 3 of these shards and I ofcourse got the souls, too. But still neither the tool box for upgrading at the bonfire nore the blacksmith in udead parish will let me upgrade it. It does not even appear in the upgrading-list anymore.

Somebody knows the solution on this? Maybe I just don't see the obvious thing, but I have no idea what to try / where to look anymore. Everything I find says I need a Zweihander +5 (got that), 800 souls (got them) and the large titanic shard (got that, too).

Have you definately picked up the large ember in the depths?

Yep. Gotta get that ember. It is in the chest guarded by the dogs and the Meat Cleaver dude.

I did not see that because I've been focusing on the ingredients and Andrei too much... Thank you guys for the hint, I will go get that thing next!

I did this when I first started because you didn't collect embers in DeS. I think Ember collecting is interesting but it just adds to the grind. i hate grinding!
